My was7000/05 will not start up. It gets as far as a blue screen with the word PHILIPS across it and then stops

My Philips WAS7000/05 music station will not boot up passed the blue screen with the words PHILIPS across it.
I've had 1 suggestion that it is the power supply causing the problem.
I don't think this is the problem, I think it has just got stuck. Any ideas?

Hi there,

First of all try a different outlet, is it plugged into one of those multi outlet strips, or plugged into the wall, the outlet strips sometimes have fuses in them that blow out.
Estimate to fix would probably be between $50-$150. Probably just fried a fuse.

if all things are fine that means problem is in the Power supply.
approx cost $100.

Good Luck!!

Please do rate this solution.

Thanks

are the lines slightly curved and go from the botom to top across the screen. If so it sounds like retrace lines from the CRTs being turned up too far. You can add the pic by clicking the camera Icon next to where it says Insert below the text box.

Blue tint and lines on screen.

Those lines sound like "retrace lines" and several things can cause them. The most common are shorts inside the picture tube and shorted semiconductors in the video driver circuits. They can also be seen if the blue screen voltage is too high or if someone has tampered with the screen voltage control.
