I put new batteries in it, and it got hot to touch, and again with new batteries but no longer turns ON. Can it be fixed, or should I purchase a new 720? Rod

Please, brand of the 720 so I can advise. Googling showed at least 4 walkie talkies with that number. The hot to touch means a short. It could be a bad battery or who knows? Depending on how hot, it may need repair. Depending on what brand it is, there may or may not be repair available.

If it was me, if it gets hot, that's usually a sign that the juice if flowing through it wrong. Sounds like you've got something hooked up backwards. or grounded out to something else. Check everything again. Get help from a professional if that doesn't fix it.

Salter kitchen Scales Model: 1041SVDR won't turn on.

This sounds very typical of kitchen and postal scales. I know you don't want to hear this, but this basically means it is time to replace your scale with a better scale - perhaps no longer giving Salter your business..

Both Controllers Keep Turning Off During Game Play

My solution of this problem is a bit technical but try and keep up. What I did was to remove the battery thingy so the insidy part was shown. I used my indexfinger and my thumb to pull the 2 springs longer so they would make more preasure at the batteries.
Then I put the batteries back in and havnt had any big problems since.
Im not sure if this solves your problems but its worth a shot since it fixed mine.

If this information was usefull to you please donate some money to charity

Our touch sensitive lamp no longer responds to touch

The sensors do not wear out as such, the fault probably is in the electronics and you should not attempt a repair unless you are suitably qualified as mains voltages are involved.

Motorola Z3 Rizr won't turn on

when you plug in the charger cable to your phone, make sure that you allow it to charge at least 2 hours, if your phone shuts off immediately after this amount of time, you likely need a new battery, they will wear out after a certain number of recharge cycles.. contact your motorola distributer or motorola website to purchase a replacement. Note do not accept "Non-Motorola Batteries or chargers as these are not guaranteed to provide the proper current necessary to safely recharge your battery, if you notice the battery getting Hot, then disconnect the charger immediately and let it cool, before removing and disposing. Remember it is normal for the battery to be warm to touch while charging or the phone itself is in use. but if it gets hot to the touch this is not normal, and the battery needs replaced..

Midland gxt-850 gets HOT!

Hi,

It is very possible that the terminal of the positive end of the bottom battery is shorting to the battery's body hence the heating up. If this is the case, then when you charge the radio, excessive current is flowing since the battery set has one shorted. Again this would cause heat buildup specially on the bottom battery and the charging terminals.

A possible solution is to check the bottom battery's positive terminal and ensure that it only contacts with the positive terminal of the battery and does not touch the battery body (which is negative).

Alternately (and perhaps more to your advantage), seek replacement of the defective unit considering it is new and therefore should be under warranty.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
