SOURCE: i have a renault megane scenic 1990 and the key
dear friend- check and replace the battery in the remote
SOURCE: does not start.on ignition the immobiliser light on panel flashes
most common cause is your key fob is broken.
check this by 1st gettin a camra phone goin onto the camra point key at camra and press button if you see a red light flash it is workin if not it is faulty which means a replacment key hope this helps
SOURCE: renault scenic 1.6 16v. occasionally will not start
This could be a possibility of a bad connection to the engine speed sensor or in other terms flywheels sensor or TDC sensor located under the thermostat housing screwed to the gearbox by two bolts, when the problem occurs try playing around with the connector connected to the TDC sensor and then try to start it, renault has a new modified connector and TDC sensor on the market.
I hope this helps.
SOURCE: resetting immobiliser on renault scenic
Absolutely no chance its a renault ,try the spare key or card thingy and if no joy then its a dealer only as the only way it can be reset and sorted is to connect the vehicle to the internet via the dealer and then reset and re-programme it if necessary .Inside the ECU or computer is the same chip for encryption as what is used in a sky digibox and do you know anyone selling monkey cards anymore for the sky package --well not here in spain their not and this vehicle has more encryption than a bank safe security system. How do you think i feel giving answers like this after 6 yrs at college and 40+ yrs in the trade and demoted to little more than a unskilled oil changer by these wiz kids and their computers ,I cannot even change the oil on some of these cars without the immobilisor coming on where it senses no oil and shuts down to prevent damage ?? no its to stop me from even doing this menial task so all the work goes to the dealer .Ask the RAC man for his opinion when he arrives
We do not have this make in the USA so have no tech info on it. Sorry
