B&E pressure washer w/ comet 3540 pump

Things to check:
1) is water coming out of the bottom of the pump or is the oil in the crankcase high level and milky yellow. If so your seals are bad.

2) Your check valves might not be seating properly. A couple of fouled check vavles will cause either no pressure or pulsing pressure. A good inlet water strainer keeps foreign matter out of valves. But valves do wear out and get build up that keeps them from working right.

3) Your unloader valve might be worn or fouled. Bad unloader would usually show as low pressure ( but more than hose pressure) or low volume out the trigger nozzle.

Valves are your most likely problem.

My Honda pressure is stuck in low pressure mode. How can I get it into hogh pressure mode?

You should check your pressure washer without the hose on it to make sure the gun isn't clogged. If the unit still sprays at low pressure with the gun and hose removed then most likely your unloader valve is stuck open. You can lookup a parts breakdown for the pump on your unit and locate the unloader so you can remove it and clean and lightly coat it with silicone grease. Then a dozen quick load/unload cycles should help properly seat the unloader parts.

Oh...and if the unit does make full pressure with the gun and hose removed you should take the hose off the gun and see if there are any obstructions in it. Hard water, corrosion, stones....something needs to be cleared!

Take all safety precautions while handling your washer! Good luck!

Coleman model APW-120 May have frozen while stored over winter the unit is new but water was not completly removed before storage. Problem motor runs continuosly but there is no water pressure I have...

Whar has happened is that your unloader / bypass valve is sticking. This is due to minor corrosion and having water in the unit over the winter. Most of the time they will sanp out it if you do the following:

Add 3 - 4 oz of oil into the water supply connection and briefly and I mean very briefly switch on the unit then right back off. Add more oil to the water supply connection and then let it sit overnight.

Then next day turn the unit on briefly and let it sit another 30 minutes. After this you connect all hoses making sure to purge the air our of the supply hose BEFORE you connect the to the unit. Then once you turn the unit on rapidly trim cycle the wand trigger. Your goal here is to cause a water hammer of the unloader / bypass valve to get the spring and cupped seal to move in the housing. Pause briefly and see if pressure builds then fan the wand trigger again. This can take a few minutes to get it to work but the routine of pausing waiting momentarily and rapidly tripping the wand trigger is what should get the unit going again.

If this does not work you will have to take the unit apart dis-assemble the unloader / bypass vavle on the output side of the pump and remove the corrosion on the spring and the housing.

Once your done cleaning up the bypass unloader valve before you put it back in the housing place a liberal amount of Lubriplate #105 White Grease on the spring and inside the housing on the mating surfaces. (#105 white grease is available at any Auto Parts store. It is in a 3 - 5 oz plastic tube)

Re-assemble the unloader / bypass valve an it should work like a champ.

My compressor builds to 125 psi then shuts off like it should then when the pressure is released the compressor wont start back up. Sometimes it will attempt to start and it sounds like the motor is...

When a compressor reaches set pressure, there should be a release of air from discharge hose thru the unloader. This release of air unloads the compressor head pressure. The unloader is usually located within the pressure switch. Easy to check. Follow discharge hose from compressor head to tank. There should be a brass/steel checkvalve at the tank. The checkvalve allows air to enter tank, however not allow air to be released back into discharge hose. If this valve is leaking, air will be released from the unloader constantly. Follow 1/4" tubing from checkvalve to unloader and listen for leaks. Repair as needed. If air is not leaking from checkvalve then check unloader mechanism with-in pressure switch. Not sprayer engine stop

This is an indication that the unloader not working properly. When you release the trigger the unloader senses the increase in pressure and bypasses the water into the water inlet. When the unloader is not working and you release the trigger, the water pressure builds quickly and overcomes the power of the engine shutting it down. Here is the manual for your machine, http://www.pressurewashersdirect.com/manuals/Simpson_WaterBlaster%20manual_2.pdf

and some information about troubleshooting from the manual.
"Not Unloading. Leak in Gunvalve or Hose. Repair gun leak . Replace leaking or broken hoses. Debris or wear in Check Valve. Remove Check Valve parts and clean. Check O-Ring. Reface with emery cloth, or replace checkvalve. Damaged Piston U-Cup. Rebuild Unloader Valve (Service Center)."
Usually when the unloader fails the pressure regulator will most likely need to be replaced as the unloader is usually incorporated within. For now try lowering the pressure some and just tie the trigger open untill you can service. Good luck.

Where is the unloader valve on my pressure washer

is not necessarily a cap, but could be a screw in plug, that should be close to the hose hook-up on the pump Inside there there should be a round ball and a spring that you can tighten or loosen to adjust the unloader and if it has been used ALOT, where the ball seats there could be grooves cut in there and you might need to get a valve kit to fix it

I have a titan pro power waser the 7hp version diesel motor.I cant get it to take a feed from the detergent i want to use! any ideas??

I have the exact same machine and had the same problem. If you've tried running the washer with a water tank as the source, you will know that it needs at least some level of pressure - i.e. the water tank needs to be higher than the washer. The detergent input supposedly work by dropping the little feed hose in detergent.... it doesn't. This needs rigging up with a fixed hose from a container higher up than the washer to create some pressure. Don't forget to put an air escape hole in the top of the container or the liquid won't drop.

I also found the battery on this model needs recharging frequently, at least once a month if used daily. Keep a check on the oil cos when the engine oil gets too low the electric starter won't start it - it acts as though the starter motor is dead, just top up the oil. Always disconnect the hoses and drain them and the machine to increase lifespan. The hoses are only hydraulic hoses meant for hydraulic fluid i.e. oil, so water degrades them over time. Errr... keep the quick release fittings lubricated or they seize up. Can't think of much else.... they work rather well for the money but could do with a properly written English manual rather than a Chinese translation with information all over the place, and none of the above mentioned.

Pressure washer, john deere 3000 psi, honda engine

It sounds like your intake is plugged with debris. What usually happens is a water hose that has been laying around will get various stuff in it -- dirt, grass clippings, small insects (and whatever they take into it nest building). These days most homeowner pressure washers do not have a proper inlet filter, but just a screened hose washer like on a washing machine. The unloader valve can cause pressure variance, but usually not in the manner that you described. The pump is being "starved" for input water. Just use a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull out the screen and clean it or replace it.
