E5 error code on a Kettler treadmill typically indicates a problem with the motor controller. This could be caused by a number of issues, including a faulty motor controller, a problem with the motor itself, or an issue with the wiring.
Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and fix the problem:
Check the wiring: Make sure all of the wiring is securely connected and there are no visible signs of damage, such as frayed or exposed wires.
Check the motor controller: Make sure the motor controller is properly installed and functioning correctly. You may want to consult the owner's manual or a professional for help with this.
Check the motor: If the motor controller and wiring seem to be in good condition, the problem may be with the motor itself. You may need to have it inspected or replaced by a professional.
If you are unable to resolve the problem on your own, it is recommended to contact a qualified service technician or the manufacturer for further assistance. It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions when attempting to repair or troubleshoot your treadmill to avoid causing further damage or injury.

To stop this much rust - go to any hardware store and buy (I forget the exact name) a "paint" called Rust Stop. It will stop the rusting and turn the existing rust into a hard black surface that you can then paint.
