Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

Westinghouse px 650 gas wall oven wont re ignite once initial heat is met

what you should be doing next is to get a gas fitter out to determine why the pilot light is going out or the sparker is not lighting the gas
gas is not a diy operation as a mistake from you could destroy the building and yourself

When I turn the oven down the gas goes off and have to start again

read the user manual as the temp should be thermostat controlled were with gas there is always a pilot light burning when the oven is in use and when the set temp is reached the gas burner is shut off and when the temp fall below set point , the gas is turned on again and the pilot light starts the burner
by using the timer , when the time is reached the gas is turned off and of course you will have to relight it
if you do not have a user manual , download one from google or talk with a gas repair shop

Oven lights and works fine till it reaches set temp then panel goes blank and oven shuts off

Check the cooling fan inside of your control panel. Most likely the computer board overheats and shuts itself down.

Oven burns things, very hot on bottom

The temp indicator light goes on and off according to the temp selected.
The sensor referred to is part and parcel of the the thermostat, or temp selector
the fact the light goes on and off, shows that the thermostatt is working, but neccesserily at the correct temp.I maintain that the thermostat that controls the temp is faulty, and needs to be replaced.

Maytag Gas Range Model #MGR 5745ADA will not pre-heat in a timely manner. The oven also does not reach temperature as indicated by the display. Could the ignitor be faulty?

Firstly do not attempt to fix or change any part, as this is gas related and requires a gas technician. It sounds like you may have an issue with your ignitor and you aren't reaching the correct temperature. Although you may still feel heat, this is from the ignitor. But in order to ignite the gas it must glow a WHITE hot and not orange. If it is orange it is faulty and will need to be replaced. part number for the ignitor is 12400035. and can be accessed safetly by removing the lower oven panel inside the ovens cavity. If your ignitor is okay and you are still getting gas inside the oven it will most likely be your control board. part number for the board is 74003800. I would have a technician diagnose it if everything appears okay.

Thanks

Doesn't get as hot as it should

the range has two thermostats one for each oven located under the oven knobs. put a meat thermometer in the oven and adjust the thermostat screw with a small flat screwdriver untill the oven turns off at the correct knob temp.
registered on the thermometer.
then adjust the knob screw on the back of the knob to match that temp setting.
clockwise is hotter counterclockwise is cooler
