Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Facebook will not load on any browser. I have tried everything I can think of. Is it cookie or cache related? Is there any setting on my computer I have accidentally changed, deleted? Basically I get the 'simple' text version of Facebook and I can't send data through it. (This is now occurring with other sites.) (I have Windows Vista, ftw.)

I use Firefox, Google Chrome and IE. It's not just Facebook. I'm getting the text version on a few sites now. Deleting cookies, cache, etc, doesn't help.

Try deleting browser history, cookies, etc. Should work. If not, maybe you have an old version of Internet Explorer, go and download the newest version

I can not access my facebook account. Every time I try all I get is a blank white screen. others can get on their account using my computer. I can not get on mine using ANY computer.

You have tried most of the things I would have suggested apart from clearing Cookies which are used at the Sign In box.

You could also try pressing CTRL and F5 at the same time which is a forced Refresh where everything on the screen has to be resubmitted.

Sim app not loading or crashing on facebook. will load anywhere from 45% to 80%, I have updated firefox, flash, plugins rebooted, and still cant get it to load properly

Hi Kat Tollenaar,
If you have not done so, please try clearing the cache and history of your browser.
  1. Open Firefox
  2. On the upper left hand side, click Firefox>> History>> Clear Recent History..
  3. I advise you to set the time range to clear to Everything to clear up all the cache and cookies of your browser. You can also choose what items to clear up so that you can retain your browsing history, etc. then click OK.
  4. Restart your browser and try it again.
Hope this helps!
Regards,MJ

Facebook will not let me sign into my account it only goes to the sign in page.

Thank you for writing in regard to your concern about unable to access your facebook account.
First, I would like to know if there is any error message that is showing? have you checked if you have placed the correct user ID and password, is the caps lock key turned off?
Here are some tips that you can consider for you to be bale to access your Facebook account.

I think this problem could possibly be resolved by clearing the cache and cookies of your browser if you haven't done so recently. If you need help with this, can you please tell me if you use Internet Explorer, Firefox, or otherwise.
Cookies are pieces of information generated by a Web server and stored in the user's computer so that a website will remember the user's past activity. The cache is the information that your browser saves about websites to enable it to load faster upon repeat visits. Unfortunately, because these pieces of information are saved and not always up to date, they can cause browser difficulties, so clearing them is the only way to reset everything.
Clearing your browsers cache and cookies will depend on the browser you are using. Let me provide you the link where you can find the steps:
Here it goes:

Now, if the problem still persists, another option would be changing your browser.
Google Chrome and Safari are notorious for having problems with certain pages on the certain site, since the site code isn't optimized for those browsers. If you have Firefox or Internet Explorer on your computer, I would recommend you try using one of those browsers when browsing instead.

Lastly, you may contact Facebook customer service support to verify whats happening on your account and what you can do to rectify it.
Hope I was able to cover everything to resolve your concern.

I can't open my facebook, could it be blocked because my computer is in a network with others computers in my office or what?

Hi,
It usually depends on what is the message you're getting when you try to log on to facebook. It could be blocked via ip address or there is a central security software on your office that blocks it. One thing you can do is to use a proxy server or a proxy program to bypass the security. One example is Hotspot Shield. You need to install it on your computer to be able to log on to Facebook at your office.

Thank you for using Fixya. your recommendation is highly appreciated.

I can log onto facebook but cant get my profile page or messages. This has happened after my pc crashed and everything had to reinstalled. Have I changed some setting? any ideas? Email:...

Make sure you're using the latest version of your web browser. Try turning off any ad blocking or noscripting addons or extensions you may have on. Try using a different browser like Google's Chrome which has good support for modern web pages. This will at least tell you if its a problem with your browser or computer/network. If you're on a school or work network facebook might be blocked.

Texas holdem poker wont load

Try to clear your computer's cache and cookies, there are times that if the page is slow and won't load it means that the your the cache and cookies are full.

Here's how to clear the cache of Internet Explorer 8
  1. Once your browser is open, press ALT on keyboard, click the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Delete Browsing History.
  3. Select "Temporary Internet Options.
  4. Make sure the General tab is selected.
  5. Click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet Files section and click OK.
  6. f you want the browser to automatically clear the cache whenever you close it, click the Advanced tab. Click to check the box next to the "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed" option (in the section labeled "Security"). Click OK. This will delete everything except cookies.
Here's how if you have Firefox:

  1. After the browser opens, click on "Tools".
  2. Now click on Clear Recent History. Alternatively, you can access this menu directly by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete.
  3. Now, beside "Time range to clear", click "Everything".
  4. Click on Details and select only Cache.
  5. Select Clear Now.

Then close all the browsers and refresh your computer or reboot it. If this will still not work you can try downloading a new browser.

You can download mozilla firefox at: www.mozilla.com
You can download flock at www.flock.com

Both are compatible with Texas Hold 'em poker/Facebook

Hope this helps! Please rate! Thanks!

Clear your browser cache and cookies and everything. If you are using Firefox, just click Tools and Clear Private data. If you are using IE, click Tools, Internet Options. From the Browsing History area, click Delete and Delete All. Close your browser and then open it again and try to access your facebook again.

If its a cache related problem, try clearing your browser's cache. Also try flushing your DNS. Open a command prompt and type:

ipconfig /flushdns
