I have purchased recently a Frigidaire Affinity front load washer. The first 3 months of use were just fine. After that, at every wash, I get an error 21 at mid-cycle. I am able to cancel it and restart. The washer suggest to start at 27 minutes. Now, I have the error 21 twice or sometimes 3 times per wash. I finish it with a spin cycle that does not cause any issue.

E21 means "Not pumping out fast enough". Could be debris caught in the pump inlet sump or pump body.
Disconnect the inlet sump from the pump. Disconnect the outlet hose from the pump. Remove the (2) screws, one on each side, holding the pump housing to the washer base. Unplug the wires from the pump motor and lift the pump assembly out.
I had the code E21 error (not draining) on my 2012 Electrolux EWFLS70JTS0, which I'm guessing is similar to a Frigidaire Front Load Washer. After reading about the potential causes being related to drain or pump obstructions, I decided to try forcing compressed air into the drain hose at the rear of the washer to see if I could push out whatever got into the system. So I moved the washing machine out from the wall, and pulled the drain hose out from its wall inlet. No disassembly required. Then I placed the trigger air nozzle from my compressor into the drain hose that's connected to the back of the machine, and held it in place with my hand so that most of the air pressure would go up the hose and into the machine. Once I pulled the trigger to start the air flow it only took a few seconds to see bubbles appearing in the washer's tub. At that point it seemed any obstruction was now pushed out (where it went, I'm not sure. Somewhere in the standing water in tub I suspect). I suppose it would be just as effective to use a garden hose with water (if you don't have an air compressor), but a little more messy. Anyway, as soon as I put it in "quick wash" mode (which starts with a drain cycle), it drained fine. 100% problem solved! No more error code. And no repair bill!. I just hope that whatever was restricting the drain flow does not find its way back into the system again. It's been a couple of days and so far, so good.

You have a pump error - 1. Check the drain hose for restrictions. Restriction, correct problem. No restriction, go to step (2). 2. Start the washer and check for 120VAC at the drain pump. Zero, replace the Main Control Board. 120VAC, remove the pump and check it for blockage. If blocked, remove the restriction, if not, replace the pump.
My Affinity washer quit spinning during the rinse cycle 14 months after we purchased the machine. We checked to make sure ithe drain was clear, and we tried changing the size of the loads. Nothing we tried worked. I was not getting any error codes on the control panel. We called a technician out to our house to see if it could be fixed. He diagnosed the problem as the control panel. We called Frigidaire to see if they would help us out with the cost of the repair since the machine was only 14 months old, even though our one year warranty had expired. They stated that they would not cover the replacement of the control panel. After the technician replaced the control panel and tried the machine, it still did not work. He called the Frigidaire tech support to find out why, and they told him that he needed to replace the door latch system, not the control panel. After he replaced the door latch the machine worked fine. When researching this problem online, I discovered that Frigidaire has had several problems with the door latch system on their front loading washing machines. They previously had a class action lawsuit due to this problem. When I found this out, I called Frigidaire to see if they would pay the repair bill we had incurred, even though our warranty had expired 2 months ago. After they contacted the technician that worked on our machine, Frigidaire decided that they would pay the cost of the replacement door latch and the labor fee. We had to pay for the cost of the initial service call. If you are having this problem, I would suggest that you contact Frigidaire. They will require that you have a diagnosis made by a certified technician. According to our technician, the flow chart for the Frigidaire front loading machines is inaccurate, so if they make an initital diagnosis of a faulty control panel you may want to have them contact Frigidaire tech support to double check the diagnosis.
