Question about Acer Computers & Internet
Hello. I have a ACER extensa 6601 Wlmi with a 60 GB HDD. I have upgraded the HDD to 180GB HDD and installed XP SP3. The HDD is reported as 103GB in XP instead of 180GB. No Bios upgrade available. BIGLBA is enabled too. Partitionmagic also sees it as 103GB drive. What do i do?
The BIOS determine the maximum size hard drive that can be installed in the laptop. Put a smaller hard drive in the laptop say 120Gb hard drive, you will lose approx 10% in the formatting process.
Use the 180GB in another laptop or put it into an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as a portable external hard drive.
