My vehicle got overheated. I changed head gasket. After that when I started the engine I heard a knocking sound and white smoke comming.what part of the engine should I check and what is this problem?

If you don't have a clue ,why are you trying to play auto mechanic ! How do you know it needed head gaskets ? White smoke out the tail pipe , blowen head gaskets ! You didn't do it right ! Take it to a qualified repair shop .

White smoke coming out exhaust

If the smoke is only when you first start it I would be looking at your valve stem oil seals, this is no serious problem to your driving and with the right gear and knowledge can be changed in car . But if your smoke is more constant than the story changes, your oil control rings have failed and this needs an engine overhaul. 2 things you need to remember is fuel burns black, oil burns white and head gaskets show visible problems, water or air leaks both external and internal so your mechanic may be correct

On a 2006 1.3 Rocam. After a broken heater hose, the engine overheated, and I didn't notice until the bakkie lost power. I replaced the head gasket, with no success. The engine still overheated.

Have you checked to see if your fan is working ?
After performing your repairs, did you bleed the coolant system ? One way is to run vehicle with heaters running to make sure that air in the heater core / hoses is bleed.

1999 Cadillac eldorado overheating. Changed thermostat, still overheating now with white smoke coming from exhaust. Checked water pump belt, it is there and turning. Cold air blowing from heater, no heat.

coolant leaking into engine probably blown head gaskets. More damage will occur the more you drive it. Unfortunate and expensive repair on a northstar.

Emmitting heavy grey smoke when eccelerating (2001 passat)

STOP driving this vehicle until you have it looked at by a professional. You may very well have a blown head gasket. If you do, then you will destroy this engine if you continue to drive it.

Smoke is coming out of the car but its not overheating so what's the problem?

what does this smoke smell like? oil? coolant?, if it smells like coolant then u have a leaking head gasket, not all head gasket leaks cause overheating, so the fact the engine is not overheating doesn't mean you don't have a head gasket leak.

1998 leganza motor smokes when it warms up

If the smoke is white, or steam it is water. you might have cracked the head or warped it. Did you get it looked at before you put the new gasket on? If the smoke is black then it is oil. Do a compression check and see if you don't have a bad cylinder. They should all be about the same give or take 5 lbs.
