I installed a goodman 5 ton heat cool unit and a 5 wire battery operated tstat, the unit is 2 stage will it work with this tstat cant get anything to work even jumping the tstat

See if there is 124 VAC across the common and the red wire. If not then the thermostat transformer inside the unit will have to be replaced or the fuse changed if it has one(not likely). All t/stats are not the same. If your T/stat doesn't have a provision for the 2nd stage or emergency heat then you have the wrong T/stat That will definitely blow the transformer that supplies 24 vac to the control relays

Where is the low voltage 24 vac transformer located?

The transformer is located in the furnace. You might want to check to make sure the furnace door is on correctly brcause theres a swich that will open for safety . Also some have a fuse on the solid state board.

The display should not be blank, meaning nothing there to look at. Different digital thermostats can be powered in 3 ways. Just from their battery's, from the furnace control transformer, from the furnace control transformer with battery back up in case the control power fails to retain your programming. Usually, removing it from the base and pulling the battery's to kill ALL of its power, waiting a minute or so then re-powering it, will restore the factory program and return the display. Also, there may be a small fuse on the back of the stat. If it has one, it will be easy to see if you are looking for it. Easy to miss if just looking at it for no reason. Be sure there is power to it. The battery's and their connections first. If you have a meter, check for control voltage. Put one lead on "R" then touch the other to "C", "Y" or "H". Should have 24 volts (AC) from the furnace transformer. I have never seen a stat blow from a power outage. But?

2) Adjust the speed sensor and tight the connector.

3) Main motor faulty. see the voltage 115 vac, without load.
4) Main motor controller board faulty. See the 115VAC for input coming from Transformer.
5) Test the TRANSFORMER for input voltage and secondary voltage,
6) Power supply output for +5vdc, for input and output.
7) Adjust the deck belt and drive belt.
8) Lubicate the deck belt.and

See the block diagram the I did for people like you. And diagnostic very easy. Sincerely. Merry Christmas.

I have a customer that recently replaced his generator, problem is , he got a 120 VAC output. He has 2 SW 4024 for 240 VAC output. Can I hookup the 120VAC to the master inverter, or should I get a...

Hello,

I will accept the second option which is getting transformer.

Go ahead and get a transformer in order to step up the voltage. This is better than hooking up the 120V AC to the master inverter.

In summary, get a transformer to step up the voltage.

I hope this is clear now....

Good luck.

Wiring a generalaire 1042 humidifier to a goodman furnace, when there are no terminals marked hum

24 VAC HUM
The yellow wire connected to the I.D. Blower pressure switch
is powered anytime the pressure switch is closed and provides
24 VAC humidifier control. Remove the yellow wire and connect
the supplied brown jumper wire to the pressure switch
terminal. Reconnect the yellow wire to the "piggyback" terminal
on the brown jumper and then connect the 24 VAC line of the
humidifier to the stripped end of the brown wire. Using a wire
nut or a field-supplied quick connect terminal can make this
connection. The wiring must conform to all local and national
codes. Connect the COM side of the humidifier to the B/C
terminal on the furnace control board (or to the COM side of
the 24 VAC transformer). DO NOT CONNECT 115V HUMIDIFIER
TO THESE TERMINALS.

AC Control Transformer keeps failing.

well it has blown the fuse on the transformer, then you have coil switch bad.It could be the coil on the contath in for cooling. But can check by taking the yellow wire a loose and see if the don't blow. The red wire is one side of the transformer and the com could be any color. But look at the red wire because it is the main wire that travel the voltage throuhg the unit.
