Access your router's control page at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 (depending on device manufacturer). From there, you will setup a protection for your wifi signal through setting a password for your broadcast signal. Just remember that admin password and access password are two different thing.

regards!

How did someone so easily steal my entire turn signal LAMP assembly from walmart parking lot? Sorry, I originally described it wrong. It was below the headlights outside the car, not inside

Hi Raymond:
What a strange thing to have happened.
I'm assuming that it was installed in the vehicle, so the thief would have had to:
1) Get access into the vehicle (hopefully the doors were locked)
2) Open the hood (latch release mechanism is inside the vehicle)
3) Disconnect the battery. (stops the horn from blowing)
4) Remove the steering wheel
5) Remove the turn signal assembly.
Sounds like a LOT of work to steal the part.
Very strange.

Tip

Naming your wireless network

an SSID is a 'name' that you give to a router. This is handy when you live or work in a place that has many wifi "hot spots" and you want to know which one is for your machine. You can name it your last name and people in the area will know it is yours. You can also setup security on it to keep unwelcomed jumpers from stealing your internet signal. See my tip on wireless security.

The system thinks you are trying to steal the car. The first thing a theif would probably do is disable the horn. The system has disabled your ignition to keep you from stealing the car. Do you have a car remote that you can use to disable the alarm?

I have a 02 Malibu and the turn signals keep clicking after they are off. It will do this for several minutes or when I move the stealing wheel or even hit a bump. Anyone had this problems and know how to...

Try locating and replacing the flasher. On the older models it was under the dash. On yours it's probably in the fuse box, which is probably behind a panel on the left side of the dash. Lid is held on with Velcro. Flasher will be marked as such, will be big and silver as opposed to color coded as the rest of the fuses. It's a cheap and easy first try. The other thing could be the Neopreme switch attached to your turn signal stalk. Could have the detents broken off of it. Go with the flasher first, and good luck!

How do I get a signal back after I have a dead battery? The XM screen says "not ready". Xm said I have to go back to the auto dealer to get a signal back. This doesn't seem right.

With all the anti-theft deterrents placed in cars now if you disconnect the battery so as to bypass the alarm (even though all your doing is replacing the battery) in allot of cases the factory radio disables itself to render it useless to someone stealing it. The reset code should have come in your owners manual and if you don't have it then you will have to go to the dealer and prove ownership. They should provide you with the needed code but then may charge you to reset it. In the future if you replace the battery and the previous one isn't completely dead a set of small jumper wires to keep 12vdc on your electrical system will prevent this in the future.
