Question about Pioneer DEH-P7900BT CD Player

1 Answer

I have a DEH-P7900BT. It was working very well for the last one year. But last week onwards I am facing a strange issue. The audio from the system go blank (mute) for few seconds and then come back. This happens while I drive. Initially I thought this is because of bad CD. But surprisingly the same issue happens while I am listening to FM. But the display works fine during this. I am really worried please help.

I would check both of the power wires for the unit. There is a yellow one and a red one. The yellow one always has power regardless of the position of the ignition switch. The red one only gets power when the ignition switch is in the on position. Also does this only happen when the vehicle is in motion or does it happen just sitting and listening to the stereo? It also could possibly be the ground wire not getting a good connection. Make sure the ground wire is tightly connected to something that is metal. Good luck.

Twice my Pioneed DEH-P7900BT has just stopped working. Keyboard went dark and the unit shut off. I pressed the button to open the face place and it opened and is stuck that way. It also didn't eject my CD...

This sounds like a wiring problem. Double check all of you connections. If the Connections look good then I would check the connections inside the radio. Check the power wire mostly. The wire could have a bad solder joint inside the radio itself.

This may be a long shot but who knows... I am one of those that reads the manual after I have figured most things out. I had the same problem but it was due to the above :) When a call was coming in I was pushing the phone button on the receiver. After reading the manual I discovered that is the "ignore" button for incoming calls. To answer the call you simply push the multifunction knob.
