What type of foot do I need when attaching popper closure tape to a duvet cover. It needs to leave more space under foot for popper height.

You do NOT want to sew over the popper. Instead, use a narrow zipper foot and adjust your machine needle to stitch just on the very edge of the tape. Hitting a popper will definitely break your needle and possibly knock the machine out of time.

Be sure to get the right foot to fit your machine!

Your machine's zipper foot may not look like this, but it should give you the basic idea.

Why is my gold medal popcorn model # 2552 machine not heating to pop popcorn anymore?

A kettle not heating is either a switch, kettle wires, thermostat, or kettle heater.

Check that the kettle is plugged in tight, notice if the switch lights up when switched, then contact your local gold medal dealer for repairs. It is always cheaper to repair a gold medal kettle than replace.

How do I remove the cover to replace the light bulbs on a Round Nautilus brand bathroom exhaust fan from the 1980's.

Most exhaust fan covers use a spring steel wire in a V shaped configuration. The bottom of the V is attached to the cover. There is a slot in the fan housing and by pinching the tops of the V togetherand insert them in the slots the spring pressure pulls the cover up tight to the ceiling.Carefully pulling the cover down enough to reach over the cover and pinch thewires together should allow the cover to be removed. Hope this helps.

I only ned the bowl for my stircrazy popcorn popper. Is it possible to buy one and the cost please.

We can't sell you the bowl at Fixya as we only can help with instructions and so on. What I can help you with is where and who to contact about the bowl.

I believe your popper is made by WestBend. So you have a couple of choices. You can look for a repair shop that will have replacement parts. These are not that common these days but they are around. You can search on the net for them and I would talk to the store you purchased the popper from and ask where you can get parts. They may have a local repair depot that will be able to help. If that doesn't get you a source then you need to try Westbend.

Go to http://westbend.com/ and click on the support tab. Then click on replacement parts then Westbend and then popcorn popper. Select your model and it should now display all available parts. Unfortunetly the replacment parts tend to be power cords and covers so there may not be a bowl available for your model. It is still worth using the Westbend contact information and asking if they have one just in case.

Aside from other sources such as ebay or thrift shops you may not be able to find a bowl. And what you have to keep in mind is the replacement cost of the bowl plus shipping if you can find one. You may find that you will have to buy a new popper as it would cost less than getting the bowl.

Fan is making ratteling noise.

pull off cover and check fan for a loose bearing. "will wobble if it has a loose bearing". if not a bad bearing then tap on moptor housing while on and be careful not to touch a fan blade. then replace cover in reverse. :)

Hi--no air in Busy Ball popper

I had the same problem!! Music worked, but fan just stopped running... Since my kids love their busy ball popper I was determined to find a fix!!
The solution for me was to replace all 4 batteries with identical brand batteries.
When the original batteries had puttered out I replaced them with 2 brand new Duracell and 2 brand new Energizer batteries (because that's what I had on hand). The popper worked just fine and I'd say a few weeks later the fan just stopped working. Music played, but no fan. I thought the fan motor must have gone bad, so I searched for another popper at a resale shop (hoping to salvage the fan motor). Well I found one, but didn't end up using it because I discovered that putting ALL the same brand of batteries in my popper did the trick. The batteries weren't necessarily brand new, but they were all the same brand and I would guess the same "age". Anyway, I'm just glad it all works now (music and fan) and my kids are back to their ball popping fun. If you haven't already give this a try. Otherwise I have a spare ball popper if you need any parts! Good luck!

Cover craacked

You can purchase a new cover through website focuselectrics.com
They bought out West Bend in 2003 and have replacement parts. However, the cost of a new cover plus shipping may equal almost the cost of just buying an entirely new popper.
