Canon ZR850 The camera works just fine, the problem shows when I hook the camera to my coputer. My computer doesn't recognize the camera. I've checked my coputer and the camera just doesn't show up. I've tried every concievable hook up and nothing works. Do you have an solution to this problem.

I've got a Canon ZR850. My windows XP system won't recognize it. I've installed two new PCIs - a USB 2.0 & a Fire-wire... Still nothing. I've installed Studio DV, still nothing... I can't belive such problem still get no anwer. I mean, this is not an discrete incident. It is a VERY specific and popular problem. What happens with Canon? Is it still the giant that used to make good video electronic or has become some kind of "One More of the Lot" orphan gadget maker? I can't belive such problem still get no anwer. Same thing. My computers (plural) will no longer recognize the ZR850. I have tried 2 machines, one with Vista 32 bit & 64, one with just 32 bit. I bought this camera because my Sony had exactly the same problem. The Canon worked for 9 months or so and now it's the same thing. :(



I've tried numerous cables, 4-6 & 4-4 pin but no joy. I'll try an XP machine to see if that helps but in the past it didn't make a difference. Same thing.
