Westinghouse L2410NM Displaying everything in a teal shade

I am using a DVI to HDMI converter cable from my PC to this monitor. It normally works fine, but sometimes the monitor will go black and then turn back on again. Sometimes it will display everything on the screen in a teal shade, and if I turn the monitor off for awhile it will return to normal. However, as of right now, it has turned all teal again and has stayed this way for a full day now despite my best efforts. Any idea??? Thank you so much for reading.

SOURCE: Monitor displays breifly then goes to blank screen

I am not familiar with your particular model, but I do know what the problem is.
The inverter that runs the lights behind the screen is faulty and needs to be repaired. The lights shine from the top and bottom and reflect outwards through the panel so you can see what is on the screen. If you start the computer up, then shine a bright light into the panel you will see an image on the screen, but very feintly.
This can be cheap, it can also be expensive depending on where you go to get it repaired. Call aorund to a few TV shops in your area to get a rough idea on prices.

Hope that helps =)

SOURCE: Monitor turned black

Check some of the other posts as it is probably just a bad capacitor or two and very easy to fix if you can do that sort of thing. I did and mine is back up and running.

SOURCE: Sceptre monitor will not return from idle.

The only workaround was to not use the DVI cable but to use the old VGA cable. You still get the same resolution.
I have a different ATI board, so I'm thinking it's an ATI+Sceptre on DVI input bug. Anyway, use the VGA cable, it'll work.

Would Roku work on HPw1907 with sound?

Some of the options you mentioned will carry audio along with the video from your Roku to your monitor but not the VGA for sure it's just video on that cable. I think your HDMI/DVI converter might work though. Worth a try anyway???
Let us know how it goes? We can all learn something here.

How do I convert a Westinghouse 22" LCM-22w3 DVI/VGA LCD Monitor into an HDTV?

Dear Amy,

Normally, monitors do not have tuning electronics for capturing TV signals.
Therefore, consider the monitor as a "dumb" unit that only displays information coming from your computer. Also, this unit does not have a HDMI input, but only VGA.
So, you are fated to have this monitor connected to your computer, always.
Now, you may find good software that will "tune" the TV signals from streaming at the Internet and show whatever is being broadcast. The same way you can access YouTube and watch videos these TV tuners will get the streaming signals the TV stations send via Internet (not all do that) and watch the channel in your PC/monitor
Since I do not have additional information about the computer you use I cannot give you other ideas
I hope I have helped you.

Using with a laptop

Connection the monitor depends on the connections you have out of your Toshiba laptop.

The monitor has both VGA and DVI.

If the Toshiba has a VGA out, all you need is a VGA cable available online, computer or electronics store.

If the Toshiba has an HDMI out, you can connect it to the DVI on the monitor with an HDMI cable and an HDMI to DVI Adapter.

You can also use USB out with either a VGA converter or a DVI converter (go with DVI for the better picture). Converters can be found online at Amazon, you may also need a standard male to male DVI cable to use with the converter.

Help Adding a 2nd Monitor to ALL-IN-ONE

Try using a VGA to VGA cable or a dvi to dvi cable because dvi-d and hdmi tend to lack the necessary pins to be converted to an analogue signal. A hdmi to dvi cable may also work

How can i watch tivo on my computer monitor

Hello,

Sorry to say but no, your monitor only has VGA which is an analog signal and HDMI is a digital signal. A cable will not convert between the two. There are digital to analog converters available but they run more than a new monitor. You can use any monitor that has a DVI port with an adapter cable because the DVI port is digital just like the HDMI port so a cable can convert the plug between the two and the signal will then be the same.

You need to change the refresh rate, some monitors operate on 60 Hertz, and others on 70 or 72 Hertz, try changing the refresh next to the resolution choices.

Why do you use VGA-HDMI cable? This TV works fine with VGA cable - it has VGA plug.
Or if your notebook has DVI output, then you can use DVI/HDMI cable and connect it to the TV to plug named DVI/HDMI (only one HDMI input is marked as DVI on TV).
I suppose that over HDMI the TV supports only some standard resolutions, but over VGA it supports almost every resolution laptops use. You can find supported resolutions for each input in the TV manual. Try setting the same resolution on the laptop.
