I cant get the lights on my touch keypad to go off on my lg chocolate. It runs my battery down pretty quickly. How do I fix this?

Hi, When a phones battery runs down, it is usually caused by too much time of charging battery and phone board that has a heating problem.

First, use another battery to test and see if the battery will not run down.

Probably, you have cut the membrane that is there below the keypad and cant connect the power on switch. Remove the front cover and then the keypad and you will find the membrane there. Replace it.

i had the same problem after water damaging my phone, one of the lights on the center wheel would not turn off so long as i had the battery in. My fix: i took a small flat head jewelry screw driver and broke the light by pushing the wheel down just enough to smash the light inside, given the light won't work anymore, but who honestly cares?

you could take the phone apart and get a new backlight.
other than that if it's under warranty you can probably get a new phone

ugh we need a solution to this... my phones doing it too!

you may need a new keypad flex - but the chocolate is a touchy phone and usually if the keypad flex is going the slider flex is next - the new shiine is built better

have you tried a master reboot? Remove the battery. Hold the power key down for 30 seconds while battery is out of phone. Replace battery, and turn on the phone.
