Question about Banner Faucets Double Handle Kitchen Faucet...

1 Answer

I have a Castille collection Banner kitchen faucet. Recently I had a leak that wouldn't quit from the hot water side. I discovered that there is was a broken plastic piece that fits onto the stem and into the handle. When I reassembled it with the new plastic piece, I can't turn the water off. I think it has something to do with the bottom of the stem which has 2 holes and their relationship to the hole though which the water enters the faucet. Can you advise?

You may have the stem in backwards, flip in around and see if this works, sometimes they only go in one way to work right.

Clean and or replace the cartridge. Cleaning the cartridge means taking it apart and it is much easier to just replace it but it's worth a try if you are so inclined.

Hot water side slower pressure than cold side on one handle kitchen faucet

If problem is isolated to one faucet, then clog is located near that faucet.
I have same problem on one faucet when sediment and dirt collects at shut-off valve for some reason.

Problem can be at shut off or at supply tube or at faucet ... or all 3.

Repairs get things kind of wet so get out bucket and towels.
Take apart center mixing valve on faucet and turn water on to see if problem flushes out.
Disconnect hot side supply tube at faucet. Turn water on and see if that flushes problem out.
Remove shut off valve and turn water on to see if that flushes problem.
Replace shut-off valve.
Next place to look is elbow inside wall.

WHEN MY SHOWER IS TURNED ON THE WATER ALSO FLOWS OUT OF THE FAUCET. HOW DO I TAKE OUT THE STEM TO CHANGE THE SEALS?

The seal is not a 100% seal, but to access there are two types, one type the tub faucet screws on and the other style is retained by an allen set screw. if you have the set screw type, you will notice a slot on the underside of the faucet, at the tub wall end, look up in there. If you see an allen, loosen it and pull the faucet straight off. if no slot or allen, unscrew the entire faucet, counter clockwise (top to the left, for those digital clock people...).
