Will not get hot

If it's a gas dryer, check the thermal fuse, gas valve solenoid, igniter, element, flame sensor, high limit thermostat, or cycling thermostat.
If electric - check the heating element, thermal fuse, or thermostat.

Overall, dryers, specifically electric dryers, are very easy to work on - youtube has some great videos too.

You need to replace the operating thermostat along with the thermal fuse. This thermostat controls temperature in the drum and if it fails, it will just put out heat constantly without regard to temperature. Be sure to check the exhaust vent in the house walls to make sure they're cleaned. Good luck

We have a Carrier Heat pump. Today the heat pump and (gas) furnace turned off completely and the thermostat is blank. We've checked the fuses and they seem to be fine and everything else is working...

Is the thermostat battery powered or powered by the transformer. If it is powered by the transformer then the transformer may have gone out. Turn the thermostat to off. Use a multimeter to check for 24 vac between R and G on the thermostat. If you don't have it there, locate the transformer in the air handler and check for it at the transformer secondary. If you don't have it there check for 120 vac at the transformer primary. If you have voltage on the primary but not the secondary then the transformer is bad and needs to be replaced. Let me know what you find and I can offer more advice.

Roper Gas Dryer

The first thing I would check is the thermal fuse (#6 on the bulkhead parts break down diagram). Replace if it's open.
Also, the manufacturer recommended to replace the cycling thermostat (#8 on the bulkhead parts break down diagram) too if the thermal fuse is open.

- The part number for the thermal fuse AP3132867

- The part number for the cycling thermostat AP3131939

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Roper dryer Model RGX4634KQ2

I have a viking rangetop and the griddle's gas is not turning on the glow plug works fine but no gas seems to be coming out.

Check the amperage draw to the igniter, if it is over 3amps and no gas, first off check the valve on the manifold behind then control panel if the valve is open then check the wiring to the thermal valve if it is connected then it would appear that the thermal valve is defective.
