Question about Frigidaire FRS26R4A Side by Side Refrigerator

I have continual problems with my Frigidaire side by side. Currently it is not producing ice and water barely trickles thru the water dispenser. We have replaced the water valve and it worked for a while. I have replaced the filters about every three months (way too often) and the water dispenses for a few days or so then slows down to almost a drip again. The model is FLSC23F6DS5 and the water valve part was 240531101(c).

    No to all three. Not much buildup (do you mean gunk?). We have not taken the filter out completely because we do not have a "bypass." Resetting the filter does nothing different.

    Not quite sure what you mean. Will I need another valve? I just paid like $80 for this one a couple of months ago. What would Frig. do; possibly send me one for free?

    Yes. He didn't try to change what we already knew, that we probably had to replace a valve for the 2nd time in 4 months, but he was encouraging about contacting Frigidaire again, which I did and am getting the part from them for free.

    OK. We've replaced the valve again, but this time, no improvement. How do you reset the indicator for the filter?

This model is known for having constant valve problems, to my knowledge there is not much you can do. When you took off the old valve was there much buildup? Have you tried just taking out the filters completely? If you just reset the indicator for the filter does it make any difference with water output?

    Yes I meant gunk on that one, sorry about the vagueness. You may want to give Frigidaire a call to see if there is a workaround, but to my knowledge there really isn't =(. So sorry about that, I wish there was more we could do to help. Their number is 1 (800) 374-4432

    Yes it sounds like you will need another valve, and yes that's exactly what I mean, Frigidaire is very good with customer service, if you explain your situation and that you just barely replaced the valve and it's doing it again they should send you at least a new valve, if not have a person come check the fridge. I don't think they are open today, but on Monday for sure give them a call, also they may have a work-around for the problem to prevent it in the future.

FYI - Mine actually froze the water in the line.. had to remove the water filter, turn off the ice maker, pull the fridge away from the wall..remove the line from the fridge connection..laid it outside for a few hours until I could blow through it.. re-installed ..all ok..

Frigidaire side by side FFHS2322MBKA ice maker stopped working, but still dispenses water


Change the Water Solenoid Valve. This is a dual solenoid valve, one side is for water thru the door ... the other side supplies water to the ice maker and probably is bad. good Luck! Handy Henry

Ice maker quit making ice how to find problem


Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS26R4A, stopped making ice. Here are a couple of suggestions you may try, to get your ice maker to produce ice.

    1)Make sure that the wire signal arm, inside the bucket area, is in the down or ON position.
    2)Make sure your household water line valve is open and on.
    3)Make sure your freezer is cold enough.
    4)Make sure the water dispenser is dispensing water. If not, the ice & water filter cartridge is clogged or restricted by foreign material, and must be replaced.

Frigidaire side by side FRS24ZSG. Door Dispenser doesn't work


click on the wiring diagram and look at the circuit which powers the dispenser...it looks like the safety switch would be a problem to all the functions you listed above..such as the light not working.. no ice... no water

i would look for power to that safety switch..and if its getting power.. then i would check continuity through that switch.

also another possibility maybe its the wiring harness that leads to the dispenser.

Whirlpool Side by Side Bad Water Taste


Hi,

Most "new" fridges with water dispensers and ice instruct the consumer in there manuals to "bleed" the reservoir by running a couple of large pictures of water thru it. I usually recommend dumping the first few harvest's of ice as well (I believe this is also mentioned in most manuals too). once that is done the water should be fine as any contaminants in the system/reservoir should be gone. you may try changing the filter after this, but it shouldn't be necessary. most ice makers do not have there supply water travel thru the water dispenser reservoir however. the water filling the ice tray should have no baring on the water you dispense into a glass to consume.

Water dispenser is dispensing water at a trickle


The water filter is the first item I would check. I just repaired a s/s with the same problem and it was the water filter.

check the water line fron filter that continues on to water dispfrom icemaker, also a bad water disp solenoid or no pwr to water valve disp solenoid could be a problem,when you try to disp water can you hear a click from the solenoid operating to let water out?

Water dispenser on front of refrigerator door does not dispense water. Ice Cube maker continues to make ice cubes. Defrosting doesn't fix problem.


Water dispensing solenoid is bad. You need to replace the solenoid valve. This typically is independent of the ice maker.
