Hi, The defrost drain behind the rear freezer panel is plugged. Remove the rear panel and clear the ice away from the drain. Then you will need to flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is open.
Some models require an after market drain heat kit.
Please get me your model # and I can look this up to let you know if you need that heat kit.

Thanks
Vic

Hi, I was gonna add one more thing but sent you the comment. If there is no ice building up in the defrost drain, it could be the drain outlet inside the fresh food section. If you will please bet me the model 3, I can look this up to be more sure of my instructions.

    Thanks

    Vic

I have ice accumulation on the bottom shelf of my freeze of my Maytag side by side MSD2957DE. There seems to be water dripping down from the back inside panel. Is this something I can fix on my own

If you have an ice maker, or water dispenser turn off the water supply to the fridge temporarily, and see if the problem still exist. The solenoid water valves on some of these models accumulate mineral deposits and don't close completely after time, thereby leaking.

Water from the defrosting operation is not draining properly in the drain hole. Must be something blocking the drain. To remedy it yall must remove the service panel in the freezer and clear the drain.

Water is pooling on the bottom shelf and in the

Hi I can help you with this annoying problem.

Self-defrosting refrigerators dispose of the water generated during the defrost cycle, usually via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates.

If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan.

Water accumulating in top shelf of refrigerator

Get yourself a thermeter and see what the tempeature is in the freezer. It should be "0" degrees or colder. If it is hanging around 30 degrees +/- you may have a compressor or control problem. You may have a drain tube clogged that takes the water out of the freezer. I am not familar with your model but many freezers are similar.

Water accumulates and freezes in bottom shel

The drain for the defrost is blocked, probably with ice. If drain is frozen it will need to be defrosted, and a heat probe attached to the heat element and down through the drain hole. If not frozen there could be blockage in the drain cup depending on the model.
