SOURCE: blue ray player wont play blue ray ''Kung Fu Panda'' disc.

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.

SOURCE: samsung blue ray player loads dvd but goes to slideshow setting

We just figured this out. We had already tried to update the firmware through the blu-ray device itself directly from the website. For some reason, that was not successful. We had to download the latest firmware from the samsung site onto our computer and then burn it onto a CD. Then we used the CD to load into the blu-ray and updated it's firmware to handle some newer movies we had purchased. It now is able to play the problematic movies. The samsung site has instructions for doing this. Good luck.

SOURCE: blue ray DVD disc doesn't load but other DVDs do load/play.

You may have to apply an update. There's a key used to decrypt the content on Blueray discs that changes from time to time in an attempt to thwart piracy. Updating involves visiting the manufacturer's(Samsung) website, downloading the update onto a USB stick, and starting the player with the USB stick inserted.

Boot and please wait problem

I had the same issue twice (2 diffrent devices) on LG Blue-ray HX-906 - stuck on "please wait" after switching it on. It turned out to be defective mainboard - main BGA chip (the one with black radiator) has some problem with connection to mainboard. Here is how to repair it:

- dismount the mainboard

- take off the radiator from the main chip

- put alluminium foil around the chip to avoid unnecessary heating up of other parts of PCB

- heat up the chip using air hotgun to about 200 celsius for about 5 minutes.

Mount everything in reverse order and enjoy

M lg bp145 quit playing blue rays but it will play dvds. Why?

Blue ray DVD's are read by a Blue violet LASER. I know that sounds pretty obvious but the colour blue is closer to the upper end of the spectrum and therefore has a shorter frequency and therefore you can generate and read much narrower data tracks. DVD's and CD use an older technology and use Red laser light which has a much wider and therefore less compact track size. So with a lower track density you get less information on a DVD.

The blue laser can be used to read both formats (and CD) but when reading the Blue ray disc the accuracy required is far greater to hit the track. Tracking errors caused by worn gears steppers and spindles can cause the Blue ray to miss the track but still have enough tolerance to read the much wider DVD/CD track.

The laser head isn't one laser, it actually produces two separate wavelengths, one for Blu ray discs and one for Red ray (DVD/CDs)

You can have a condition where the "blue-violet Laser diode fails but the red laser diode is still working. In this condition, it will exhibit exactly the effect you are experiencing.

Audio is choppy only when playing blu ray dvd, works fine with a regular DVD. OS XP, using Cyber link Power DVD 10 program.

What is your PC/Laptop specifications?

Running Blu-ray movies is very CPU power hungry. You may not have a good enough CPU to be running bluray dvds if both audio and video are clipping.

If it is just audio, I highly recommend the video player called "VLC". It plays everything and is undoubtedly the best video player currently available, and it is FREE.

LG BP125 Blu Ray player wont play Blu Ray's

If the drives Laser head is misaligned it won't track properly and thus it cannot read or burn discs. A copy of a disc may not work if burned on another machine either. If it is new or in warranty, replace it.

My LG Blu Ray Player shuts down when playing a specific disc

Just had this issue with Brave on my LG player (the Walmart Black Friday special one). Turns out this is an audio issue that causes the restart. Quick fix is to hit the audio button when the movie starts (near the bottom of the remote) and use the ">" button to change the audio to "2 Eng" (2.0 CH). It's the TrueHD audio of 1.0 CH that causes the system error. I believe you may encounter this on a few other recent Disney releases with TrueHD audio. Not sure if there is a firmware update to fix this, but it's worth a shot to call the 1-800 number on the top of the player. (1-800-243-0000 LG Support)
Hopefully this fix works for you and others experiencing the same problem!
