Did you use the same brand blank? If not you needed to reformatt that ******.

Check the type of discs that you have if it a DVD, check if it is - or +. It should say on the disc. I have heard of MDVDs not playing -R since it follows the +R standard. It is on the booktype when you burn it it would show up as -ROM which the player does not understand. Check also the manner of burning. See if it will matter if it burned the disc at slower speed to let the laser read the information better. Check also if other brands of blank dvds will work. Check as well those discs if they will play on a different type of player.
