I've seen this on one ford before. The guy was in 4x4 and the switch would not release it. We tested all the components and like you stated all was good. There just happen to be a code in the computer that really did nt suggest a cure for this. So we cleared the code and click, right away the switch worked. So try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes to get the computers to completely discharge and hopefully erase the code.. If this does nt work you may need a scanner to see if there is a code. The code in my case was in memory and no lights were on because of it.

No way that that I know..sounds like your four wheel modulator that controls the four/two wheel drive operation is defective..Not sure where yours is located but if you can find it it can be purchased and changed out DIY..Just a plug in cinnections. It can be a couple hundred bucks for the Mod...but much more if done by a repair garage...Try this,,go into utube and ask how to replace the four wheel drive modual for your vehicle..or ask for problem solving your four wheel drive..and see what you find..I have used it with good results...good luck..

Our 2007 is stuck in low four wheel drive. The other lights blink like it's trying to go back where it should be but it stays in 4 wheel drive low. Any ideas how to get it back without having to t

Sounds like the 4x4 unit has not been used for a while. This is a common problem. If cleaning and reinstalling the electrical connectors dose not solve the problem then, try this procedure before replacing the control module.

I want to know about the power and the winter buttons. I want to know in the snow if I need to use the four wheel drive high or the four wheel drive low. I have a 1998 Honda Passport 4x4 automatic...

Four wheel High is what you need to use in snow. It is similar to your regular driving experience but your speeds should not exceed 45-50 mph. Shift through your normal gears as necessary and drive with appropriate caution. Four wheel High should be used only as long as driving conditions warrant, using it otherwise can cause unnecessary wear on your transmission and drive-train as well as lower fuel economy.

Four wheel low is used for pulling out of a ditch if you are stuck, going through deep mud or rock crawling. Four wheel low will also cause your vehicle to lurch every time you press the gas pedal.
