Have you used the cards in this camera before?
So me cameras cannot handle bigger cards unless there was a firmware upgrade.
If the cards worked before, try to format the cards in the computer and then in the camera.
MAKE SURE to format the cards in the camera before taking any photos.

Why will it not format the new memory card? I have tried 4.

Make sure the little tab/switch on the card is in the proper position for read/write, then try to format the card on a desktop or laptop computer, using the FAT file system. Then pop it in the camera. It should read it.

Bought a 8 gb sd card for my kodax dx7630 and says it needs formatting, but then goes back to need formatting. to large? thanks

The DX7630 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card, and the DX7630 will not recognize it.

Try using a different memory card. Or use a memory card reader and format it using your computer.

I have 2 different sd cards 4gb that the card won't format or read because it won't format it.

The DX7630 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB cards are actually SDHC cards, not SD cards. While they will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

The camera won't format a scan disc memory card

How big is the memory card? The DX7630 uses SD cards. If your card is larger than 2GB then it's actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and won't work.

I have a Kodak dx7630 digital camera I always find a message saying that I have to format my memory card, and when I press "ok" it doesn't get formatted. I also find this message even if the memory card...

Remove off your memory card ffromthe camera and test this in your PC for possible errors. A scan for virus must be done and the card must open. If so format after saving off all the files.
Now reinsert the card to your camera, If the fault recurrs then it can be errors in the processor board.

Memory card fails to format

Try to buy a card reader and format the card from your computer first. If the camera is brand new and still able for return, return it.
