I just ran across something similar in Access--it turned out to be an issue with the VB library references. If you have a visual basic editor in your program, see if you can find its references and see if any are missing.

I am trying to run Complete Home Designer 4.0 on my new quad-core system, running Windows Xp Pro. I have 2 GB of RAM and an Intel Q9550 processor. For video, I have an NVidia GeForce 9500 GT video card. ...

I don't have that particular home design program and from what I could find that version was made to run on 98 or 2000. If the program is working other than not having the windows and doors it could be that before xp the various subfolders/parts of a program was installed under the same folder the software went into. But from xp on they stick them in the users folder (user name youre logged in as) and app. If you look at your username/app folder and see if it has home designer and folders there. Also look in the home design folder (most likely under program files) and see if there's subfolders there that contain the windows and doors. Then look in the program itself and see if there's a place to browse to or set defaults to those subfolders.

Not all programs have this set up but many do and somegtimes it's a matter of copying folders to the right location if they were installed elsewhere or setting the OPTIONS or PREFERENCES in the program itself to the place they are located on the drive.

Unfortunately software like this is often limited to the operating system they were designed for and your only choice is to get a newer version.

I'm unable to install 3D home designer deluxe edition

Under Organization, did you leave this blank? Sometimes you have to even tyoe "None" if this is for personal use. Please also check your number and make sure your "-" are in the correct spot. If this all fails? Return this product for an exchange for the exact item from where you purchased it.

Hope This Helps

Running program

Take a look at the comments on this product at Despite what it may say on the box, no one with XP was able to get it to work. This is an old program, and what's likely happening is you have TOO much virtual memory. What I mean by that is that the program was written so long ago they expect a maximum size of virtual memory. When your number exceeds that, in a computer program, frequently the number wraps around to zero and goes negative (internal to the program). This is likely the issue. Sorry, but the program is too old and unstable to run successfully on XP.
