Re: Skull Candy Headphone problem

The wires can easily break inside the insulation without showing it outside. The good news I'm about 99% sure it isn't in the headset or at least one would work.

So, can you see any markings where it got caught in the door? If so I would cut the cable a couple of inches towards the headset from there and install a new plug . The plug is wired as follows: bare coppers both go to the contact that leads to the large sleeve on the plug. The other two wires each go to one ot the other two contacts. A little solder and you're on your way again.

I have a pair of Skull Candy and my grand daughter cut the cable, can they be repaired

They probably could be repaired, but it would require stripping of the wire and connecting the correct wires back together.
In other words, you would be better off buying a new pair.

You can remove the plastic around the cut ends and tie the corresponding wires back together and then cover the visible wires with electrical tape. This may or may not work if you're not experienced but if you're willing to give it a shot, good luck.

My gi skull candy was cracked because I accidentally drop it... The two ear piece are loose already.. But the quality of the sounds is still ok... Pls help me I'm here at Singapore now

Try pressing the brackets that hold the earpiece in place, back together. This is the best I can tell you. I don't know where the crack is located at on the headphones. If you want to go this far, you can try to glue or tape the crack in place, but this is only if you want to try this. I say, if you are still getting quality sound from the headphones, then the headphones are still doing its job,

Dont work when i put them into headphone slot. i have to twist them and most of the time hold them at one angle to get them to work... i have the skull candy skullcrushers.

It is broken wire(s) inside the cord at the plug. The is either get a new jack at Radio Shack or similar and solder the wiers to the contacts as follows bare copper (2 of them) to the "sleeve" which is the part of the plug closest to the cord, then solder each of the other two wires to one of the other contacts.

How to replace the male plug of my icon skull candy headphone.

there are 3 wires.A ground, usually a braid on the outside under the plastic covering and 2 other wires, one for left and one for right.the size of plug is a 1/8 phone jack.the wires are very thin and you have to make sure to trim just enough plastic to solder it on.too much peeled plastic will create a short, and you have to be good at soldering to do it.

Bass amplifier doesn't work even when i switched the batteries.

The bass unit must be defective. Talk to the guys at Skullcandy for a replacement (they offer lifetime warranties for stuff like this).
Their website has a link directly to the warranty page as well:

Hope this helps

I tripped on the long wire and I broke the thing where you insert

Call Skullcandy they might have a extra cord around. or if the headphones are broken you can warranty them and get 50% off a new pair at least...
