If you've had the saltwater system very long, the titanium plates can get coated with calcium deposits (especially if you live in an area with hard water). Disconnect the hoses and the flow sensor to inspect the plates. You'll probably see a white coating in between the plates. If so take a garden hose with a nozzle and flush the plates clean. You may need to use a small soft brush for the harder deposits. I had to do this once a week so this year I filled the pool with softened water.

Take a water sample with the brand of chlorinator and gallonage of pool to pool store. They can test the water for you and recomend where your salt level should be. They all run at different leavels of salt, some won't run if it's to low and some won't run if it's to high. You will need them to ck your stablizer at the same time as you dumped that with your water. This leavel is something you do once in the life of the water but it controles how your chloriene is held or stablized in the water. The sodieum chloride that your chlorinator makes is very unstable and need's this to hold it in the water till it gets used. So check the chems at a store and see what they recomend. They usually do this for nothing as you will buy your chems there so have it done anytime your not sure about things.

I have added salt due to constant low salt warning. I have been brushing and running pump. It appears to be on a 6 hr cycle as 06 shows up when turned on. It also goes into sleep mode. Test strips show...

Way too high on the salt.. about 5000 to 7000 ppm. You should be around 2000 to 3000 ppm or 5.6 to 6.6... I had the same issue with my system and it's always the cell..Look inside the cell and if you can see white stuff inside, it needs to to be cleaned... The manual states to soak with vinegar for 6hrs.. I soak mine for 24, flush and soak again for 6hrs and flush again.. Comes our clean.. and the low salt alarm goes away until the next time the cell gets dirty with the white buildup... You can add an additive made by hth called "Cell Saver"..Prolongs the cleaning cycle... After you clean the cell and your filter, change your chlorinator cycle to 10 hrs with your pump to run 11 to12 until the pool clears and then lower to maintain the proper chlorine level.. Good luck and hopes this works for you.....

Just purchased and installed Intex salt water system. It shows low flow and now, after 5 days of installment, the water is completely green (expecting Swam Thing to come out!) I need your guidance to...

Seems like you may not have the pump and the salt chlorinator in sync... If your water is dark green and not a big pool, you may want to drain and refill, if you have a large pool, you may want to shock and then try the following...
1.Make sure you have added the correct amount of salt...
2.Set your timer for your pump for 12 hrs.
3.Wait 15 minutes and then turn on your intex salt water system..
4.Set you hrs of operation on your salt water system for 10 to 11 hrs...
5.After running the system for 3 days, check your chlorine level..

If water clears and chlorine level is high, adjust the time.. You will have to re-sync the pump and chlorinator.. If the pump turns off before the chlorinator finishes it's cycle, you will get a "LOW FLOW" alarm..
I hope this helps and good luck.. Please rate and comment on the information provided.

I have done everything the manual says, but my saltwater system will not stop blinking error code 91. The salt level is fine, and the cell is clean. Do I need to replace the cell. My pool is now green and...

Bummer!!! Looks like you checked both things that would cause the code 91 error for "Low Salt". Here's what I've done to solve my low salt "91 code in the past.. I overshoot by 1/2 bag = 20lbs of the recommended salt add quantity when the code appears. Calculate by using this formula..
.0067 X Pool Gallons. I have a 14,000 gallon pool and when I get the 91 code for low salt, I add about 110 lbs of salt. Manual says 93 lbs...let it circulate for 24 hours by running the pump only and then start the chlorination cycle.. Before doing this, you MUST make sure the cell in clean.. If any calcium buildup inside, it can give you a false "Low Salt" alarm.

I hope this helps!!

If this helps, please rate... Thanks

How to stop it frfom beeping/flashing 91 low salt.

1st... Check electrolytic cell and clean with vinegar...If white scalley stuff inside, cap one end and soak for 6 to 12 hrs and rinse until clean
2nd...check salt level, see manual for PPM, if low, add salt.. If you have a big pool 12000 to 15000 gallons, you will have to add up to 100 lbs of salt..
3rd... Run only pump for 24 hrs to dissolve salt..
4th... Set you cycle and should be fine
Hope this helps and rate if it does

You don't want to swim in water that has algae... 1st ...Make sure you have the correct amount of salt. See you manual for amount needed. Must set you pump timer first and sync your chlorinator between that time, if pump turns off before chlorinator cycle ends, you will get an "Low flow" alarm. Set you pump timer to run 12 hours and the chlorinator for 10 to 11 of those hours and should see results within 3 days or so. After that, If you live in an area that is hot, 10 hours pump and 8 to 9 chlorinator... Hope this helps...

you really should get test strips for salt. Get the kind that reads #'s
Get your pool to as close to 3000ppm as you can. any lower than 27000 and you do not generate enough chlorine any higher than 3600 will taste bad and could trigger high salt alarm 3000 is best

run filter only for a few hours before running generator the salt needs enough time to fully distribute through the pool

Low salt alarm on Intex system

so what does the test strip say. Should be as close to 3000ppm as possible anything close and under 2700ppm will trigger a low salt also you must run filter only for 24 hours to thouroughly mix the salt before trying to turn on the generator
