I cannot notice these during normal television but noticed them while watching a movie last night and are very evident when in video 4-7 where there is no input coming through. They show up on the black screen as curves horizontal red lines. Can this be feedback from something in the area or is this an internal problem with the tv?

I tried the solution that was posted for this problem and it worked!
Just remove the Low front panel by removing the two bottom screws that are covered by two screw covers, then remove the second panel (black) by removing the 4 screws then you'll notice a module with 6 adjustment knobs, get a small screw driver, and with the t.v. on, being carefull , and with somebody accross the room looking at the screen begin with the lower left knob and turn left very slowly and ask the person across the room to let you know if the screen is better or not, after this I had to adjust the green as well so, I adjusted the next knob over to the left. Do this adjustment carefully and try to remenber the original position of the knobs in case you have to go back.f
Have you tried magic focus? if that doesn't work replace the pcb convergence board,, It costs $96
and takes 10 minutes to replace you will have to manually line up your
convergence afterward as the settings go to factory default. Everyone
that owns this set has or will have to replace this part within 3 years http://www.samsungparts.com/search/search.asp

sounds like you are seeing retrace lines. you will have to adjuste the screen control. (it would be like a master brightness.) you will have to removed the front bottom plastic from the tv, look for 2 to 4 screws. then gently remove the front. sometimes the also add velcro to help hold it in place. now you need to remove the small plastic or wooden panel/door. in the upper right side you will see a small box with 6 controls.i do nor remember if the top 3 controls are for screen or focus, use a flashlight it is marked on the box which is which. adjusted the screen control to the left slightly to decrease the color you need. the green is the center control. like you said it is more noticable on dark screens, so try & adjust it in a dark romm with a drak seen.
