hi,
You have to check the picture tube base socket. After some years of use the contacts of the base socket will become bad (normally the screen pin and focus pin). Just replace the CRT socket it will solve your problem. You can find the CRT base socket on circut board at the end of picture tube neck. Pull the circuit board straight to back,do not shack. It will damge the picture tube pins. And replace the socket with the same type. You will get it from any of the electronic spare part shop near to you. Remember one thing remove the socket from the circuit and keep it with you as sample when you are going to purchase a new one, Because there are different types of CRT sockets are avilable. Purchase one which is similar.
ok
Hello
Its picture tube base socket has damaged. Picture tube base socket is one diretly soldered to the base card, which in turn pluged onto the picture tube neck. Its focus control pin will usually get damaged, and this type of fault you describes here will occur. The time taken to clear up picture will vary according to atmosphereic humidty.
You can replace the base card. Unplug the base card from the picture tube base card [do it ver cauciously; not to shake it sideways or up-down - just pull it straight backwards; you may have to apply a little pressure to detach it from the picture tube neck]; resolder it out from the card and go for a new one. Replacing it will solve your TVs problem. OK.

Hello
Picture tubes are available at electronic spare part shops. You have to give them the number and type of the picture tube, to which your JVC TV has. Picture tube, along with its Yoke fittings are integrated, and you can replace it by yoursef at home. Be very carfull in handling the picture tube, as they are highly vacumed, and will explde by hard hits. There will be four seating screws on the four corners of the picture tube, and these slots will clearly alaign if the picture tube selected is orginal number. Diamentions of these holes will be different to spherical and flat picture tubes. So you must first aware of the type of picture tube, which the TV has fitted earlier. OK.

It's good that you know how TV's can bite, I'll still have to post this in case someone having your problem and reading isn't aware of this and feels lucky-
If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages.
could be a problem with the screen potentiometers block. should be located on the chassis close to where the HT lead passes on its way to the picture tube.
Good luck
