The Acer H233H does not have a microphone built into the monitor. Thus you do not have to put tape over the microphone. It does have integrated down-ward firing speakers; the speaker jack is next to the power cord on the back of the monitor. Make sure to connect the included audio cord to the Lime Green audio (speaker) out jack on your computer. All of the jacks on the monitor point down.

If this monitor had a microphone and the blue 3.5 mm audio port, you could keep the microphone disabled simply by not connecting the cable between the monitor and the computer's microphone port.

I hope this helps. Web cameras often have microphones. Some laptops often have an integrated web camera; thus they have a microphone mounted on the bezel of the laptop. Blocking that microphone with tape might be useful. I'd block the camera too. For USB connected web cameras, simply unplug the data cable from the computer when you aren't using the camera to disable the microphone.

It could be you need to uninstall the driver and plug the camera in first and allow the laptop to install the software automatically.

You would probably be best off buying another monitor from Uniden. The system is a proprietary system made to control the operation. Uniden is the only one that can answer if there program you can use on a laptop.

The most common reason for loss of camera remote video is an intermittent cable connection between camera and DVR. Try monitoring with a VGA monitor, or TV with analog VGA input also to see if that is the case. Gently move the cables around that run from the cameras to the DVR while observing the multiple cameras showing on the monitor. Some remote viewing software has trouble restoring camera assignments after brief loss of camera signal.

Your camera should have come with an ethernet cable to connect to your pc. An ethernet cable looks like a phone cord but a little larger. There are many ways to use that monitoring system and camera. you can connect it directly to your pc and use it as a camera - you can register the software and get an internet address to log into viewing whatever it is set to monitor wireless and mobile while on the go. I can't really answer your question about how to connect it to your laptop until I know what it is that you want to do with it?

The first thing you need to do is install the software that came with it on your laptop before connecting anything. If you don't have the software disk that came with it, you can find a free download available at the manufacturers website. Run a search on the internet. They should be easy to locate.

Hi,

The cam setup you're trying in your surgery is similar to the type I often setup in Dental operatories for there intra-oral cameras.

You need an tuner, if your external has S-Video port, you can simply plug into it and use windows media center or the cards software(if it came seperate) to record from the s-video feed.

Then you can hook the S-Video output from the laptop to the TV monitor in question and run the laptop in mirrored mode to show the same image on both screens.

You can't view live images on the monitor; the D2X does not have a Live View capability. A suitable version of Nikon Camera Control Pro may allow you to connect the D2X to a computer.
