Monching, You will have to hope there is not too much damage done already from running straight Gas. Empty all straight gas from blowers tank and refill with proper minimum 50:1 gas oil mix. Start blower and run on 1/2 throttle for a few minutes to be sure its going to be OK. If seized, you will have to try and unseize and if lucky it may run if not too much damage internally. You should run a heavier oil to gas mix 32 or 40:1 in an engine that's been seized. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Testimonial: "Kudos to L Pfaff for a superb advice. The above mentioned posts/tips were additionally very helpful in recognizing the problem and the options/remedies and simple steps to unseize the machine. I am extremely grateful for sharing your expertise. BTW, I flatly rejected Sears Repair center to charge me $55.00 simply to "take a look" at the blower. It was not customer-friendly at all. Thanks once again for this wonderful "first time" encounter with experts like you from FIXYA.com. 3 cheers!!!"

Previous homeowner left a homelite b250 0 801 backpack BLOWER. What type of fuel does it use note no owners manual on homelite site

It uses Hi test gasoline. NOT regular. You'll be having hard start problems if you use regular grade fuel. The engine is a 2 stroke which means you MUST mix oil into the gasoline before you put it in the blower gas tank. The proper 2 cycle oil can be had at any home improvement store or garden departments in places like Walmart. Do not use automotive oil or you will have a huge amount of smoke when you run the blower. You can get an owners manual by going on Homelite's website too.

Gas and oil mixed in 4 cycle backpack leaf blower

If it is a 4 cycle blower, you do not mix oil with the fuel....It takes straight Gas. there is an oil cap to put engine oil in crankcase, this only usually takes 2,3,4 oz. of oil. Sounds like your Spark Plug probably fouled out from having oil mixed in your gas. I would recomend changing your Spark Plug and put some Fresh GAS only in the blower, dump the old stuff out !!! You should be on your way Blowing in No Time !

What is the gas oil ratio of the ryobi leaf blower

Most Ryobi products made in the past 5 years use a 50:1 fuel mix. Check the fuel cap to see if it is listed there. The older Ryobi product used a 32: 1 fuel mix ratio and it was usually listed on the sticker that shows you how to work the choke. If in doubt, go with the 32:1 ratio. The only thing it will cause is premature fouling of the spark plug. Too little oil in the mix will cause premature engine wear.

50:1 is 2.6 ounces of 2 cycle mix to each gallon (U.S.) of gasoline.
32:1 is 4.0 ounces of 2 cycle mix per gallon.

I recommend to use a 2 cycle mix that is specifically designed for lawn equipment and contains fuel stabilizer. The ones with stabilizer will usually be .5 ounces larger.

Good luck!

I can't find an oil reservoir on this model ? Shouldn't every engine need oil ? I can't find the dipstick, Stuck, Harry

Welcome to the wonderful world of 2 cycle engines. Your McCullough blower uses a fuel mix to lubricate the piston. You MUST mix 3.2 ounces of 2 cycle mix to every gallon (U.S.) of gasoline.

If you run straight gasoline through your blower, you will RUIN the engine in seconds!

The fuel mix ratio is crucial to the lifespan of the engine. DO NOT GUESS.......MEASURE !!

I would also encourage you to purchase a 2 cycle mix that contains a fuel stabilizer. Gasoline starts to degrade in as little as 60 days, and a stabilizer will allow your fuel to stay fresh longer.

Good luck.

Need to know gas mixture

Yours is not a current model and I did not find a manual. The following is an excerpt from a 26cc MightyLite Blower/Vac UT08550/UT08951 "Operator's Manual":
This product is powered by a 2-cycle engine and requires pre-mixing gasoline and 2-cycle lubricant. Pre-mix unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine lubricant in a clean 1 gallon container approved for gasoline.
Recommended fuel: This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline intended for automotive use.
Mix Homelite Premium Exact Mix lubricant with gasoline according to the instructions on the package. If Premium Exact Mix lubricant is not available, use a high quality synthetic 2-cycle engine lubricant, mixed at 2.6 oz. per gallon (US).
Do not use automotive lubricant or 2-cycle outboard lubricant.
NOTE: Premium Exact Mix fuel mix will stay fresh up to 30 days. DO NOT mix quantities larger than usable in a 30 day period.
PREMIUM EXACT MIX (50:1)
GasolineLubricant
1 gallon (US) 2.6 oz.
1 Liter 20 cc (20 ml)

If properly adjusted your blower will operate fine on 50:1 regardles of what the manual reads. HTH
