Why does my ignition switch 40 amp maxifuse keep blowing?

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am gt 3.4 liter v6. The first time it happened was when i tried to recharge and run my ac and then 3 more times every time i tried to use my ac. Well i had to replace the hose that goes from my water pump to my engine, and after doing that i started the car to get it warm to check for leaks. I did not turn on the ac or heat or anything and after sitting and running for about 10-15 minutes it died. When i tried to restart it it wouldnt even turn over, my locks still work but nothing else and the fuse is blown again. I recently had my cooling fans replaced and the mechanic ran the wires to a small 10 amp fuse in the fuse box, could that be what is blowing it? Please help, i dont know what to do! Thanks

Get in an accredited auto electrician as there is a dead short to blow a 40 amp fuse
may be what the mechanic did is the problem but I think that it would have blown immediately if it was
I would be looking for a wire heavy size wire like to the alternator, or after the fuse box etc that is touching ground or a relay that is faulty

Removing Plug Wires from '02 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.8 Liter V6

You will need to remove the coil packs first. To remove coil packs, undo 4 bolts and tip the coils over to the side.

Users on the internet say also that you can remove two engine top mounts to access the plug wires. See links below:

Engine fan keeps running

It's possible that the fan control relay is intermittently sticking causing the fans to run continuously. This can overheat and subsequently blow the fuse. Try replacing the relay and see if anything changes.

Hope this helps.
