Question about InFocus SP5000 Home Theater Projector, 1100 Lumens, 1280x720, 1200:1, 16:9, Refurbished Multimedia Projector

Open Question

My SP5000 stopped working with HDCP

My SP5000 seems to no longer supports HDCP. I have a new cable (HDMI-M1) and still nothing. It started with my PS3 not showing an image, so I went to my 360 and have an image, but once I play a DVD I get HDCP link dropped. Any ideas on how to fix it? I don't really have the money for a new projector, but I would like to watch my Blu-Rays on my big screen.
Additional info: I have successfully plugged my PS3 into a different HDTV and watched a movie. So I am pretty sure the problem lies with the SP5000.

SOURCE: IN72 Projector problem

My understanding when we purchased our IN72 2 years ago is that there wasn't any additional benefit for Cable box using HDMI since the IN72 does not transmit audio so using component cables for cable was optimized enough. We have our DVD player connected via the HDMI only. Possibly the transmission from cable box through an HDMI is not compatible audio is confusing it? hard to say. Cable HD channels look awesome thru the compenent cables, the max for IN72 is 480i anyway.

We've got 35 ft cables for all 3 hdmi, compenent, and that vcr one too and it's worked great.

Try pressing the "auto image" button on the projector itself. This usually will correct the sync problem.

HDCP is causing the trouble You experience. Try using other video input connection for same set. If it works fine that way, the problem is that the rights protection (HDCP) is acting as "police" to prevent copying or reproduce unauthorized content. If only the HDMI is connected (disconnect all other inputs/outputs) on some sets, could be work fine.

I'm tryingto hook up my lp350 to hdmi. I purchased an m1-da to hdmi adapter. When I hook up my dvd player or PS3, I get a message that the display does not contain HDCP compatibility.

Unfortunatly your projector is not HDCP compliant. In other words it lacks the proper hardware and software which is neccessary for you to watch HDCP content. HDCP is a form of copy protection.

Blue no signal screen in the middle of playing a game - ps3 hdmi

Have your tried a different plug HDMI plug on your TV? Maybe bring your PS3 to a friend who has HDMI and try it on his TV. What about a diffferent HDMI cable?

Could also be your HDMI on your PS#, but try these other simple tasks first.

Good Luck

PS3 to Infocus LP 350 projector using HDMI

Hi,

M1-DA is a type of DVI connection that produces both analogue and digital signals, the easiest and most quality source cable for you to get is a HDMI to M1-DA cable which is now widely available for purchase.

Infocus should have included this cable in with your projector, but instead the power at bee decided to put a M1-DA to DVI-D cable instead when most visual devices now support HDMI and not DVI nowadays.

Thanks

The problem is with your PS3 itself.
If it's still under warranty, take it back.

Dell w3000 & PS3

This may not be DVI issue.
I connected DVD player HDMI ----> DVI ( Dell W3000) LCD TV.
Later I found that Dell TV version of DVI does not support HDCP protocol ( High Definition Content Protection protocol). So I could not play HDMI to DVI movies from my DVD player instead I use Y Pb Pr -- this works ok.

Hope this helps... I am not use PS3 enforces HDCP - I assume Sony linked with Sony Pictures would enforce HDCP on HDMI cable.

Help for a friend; ln-s4095d, hdmi and blu-ray.. no picture

You may want to try a good, Monster Cable, HDMI cable. Visit this page: http://www.monstercable.com/HDMI/advancedhdmi.asp
If you have a standard HDMI cable, it will not support 1080P.

So this is one of the few times that I will recommend spending the money for a better cable.
The better cable improves picture color quality, from 8 bit to 12 bit and it improves audio quality.
