Re: problems with a new cell phone

Reflash the original frimware on the phone, or if the warranty is still good you should return it and get a new one.

Phone just shuts down for no reason i can see. Will not restart unless u put on charger and after about 5 mins shows a full charge. Phone then works for an hr or 2 then shuts down again. Any suggestions?

sounds like a bad battery. The is a tiny microchip that monitors when the battery is full, if its malfunctioning then you will get this problem. I would find a friend with that phone to borrow theirs or buy a new battery.

Hi. my phone won't turn in, and it is not that my battery is dead, i'm sure of that.

Go ahead and remove the battery and then make sure it is put in with the correct side facing out and that it fits snugly in the phone.

Restart the phone and see if that solves the problem. If not contact your service provider and explain the situation.

If this is a new phone you may qualify for a warranty return. If you have insurance on the phone this may cover a phone replacement. If you haven't done this already, try leaving the phone charging overnight just to make sure that the battery gets a full charge.

Best choice is to call your service provider and see what they can do on their end to help you.

It takes hours to get a signal after it is turned on, the battery is full charged and after it gets a signal it is full.

If your phone is unable to find a signal after 15 minutes of
searching, a Power Save feature is automatically activated. If
your phone is active, it periodically rechecks service availability
or you can check it yourself by pressing any key.
Anytime the Power Save feature is activated, a message displays
on the screen. When a signal is found, your phone returns to
standby mode. But u are saying it takes hours to get the signal.I think it

My phone has been running out of battery very fast without me even using it and it says i have full battery why is this?

1) Does your phone ever say "searching for signal"?

If it does, this means it is on and using up battery power to find cell phone tower signal. In some remote areas we see this with AT&T phones, where someone sets in down in an area of their house that gets weak or almost no coverage - and it searches for signal the entire time and eats up battery life. If you see this message, set the phone down somewhere where signal strength is better so it doesnt constantly drain the battery, or power the phone off while there, or leave it plugged into a charger the entire time it is in "searching" mode.

2 - Batteries can go bad, sometimes even when they are new. Sometimes when they are bad, they just burn through battery power super fast. Try a different battery, those are usually the cheapest way to troubleshoot.

3 - If its not searching, and a new battery doesn't help - it is the phone. They refer to it as "phone will not hold a charge" this is normally covered by warranty if your warranty is still intact - and the phone is less than 12 months old.

Poor signal. when phone is on standby it has full signal when its powered up and make a call signal drops to nothing. no problems with service provider and installed new battery

May be your phone's antenna is not working properly. It can be due to software problems also. Before going to a qualified technician please try updating your phone's firmware or re-installing your phones firmware.

Phone keeps shutting off, but the battery life is full.

If you are sure that your battery is working well then the problem is that your battery does not set perfectly into its place you should do this:
  • Take out the battery of your cell phone put a piece of paper or tissue at the rear end of your battery not the connector.Such that your battery fits perfectly into its place.
Your phone keeps on turning off just because of this reason.Hope that helps you...!!!

Samsung Sync

Its one of the most common problem in Samsung SGH-A707.It is mainly due to one reason i,e. your cell got wet.....!!!
But you can try following steps to get rid of it:
  1. Takeout the battery of your phone.
  2. Leave your cell in air for a day or two without attaching battery and battery cover to it.
  3. Put the battery back,it should work.If still problem exists, then I'll recommend you to buy a new battery for your cell........and before you put that new battery in your cell, leave your cell in air for another two days with the same procedure.

Motorola RAZR V3 No signal (bars)

I had the same problem with my phone- i got a cheap generic battery to replace the old one (which wasn't holding a charge for a full day, at that) and then i lost all signal, basically. I tried what scm_pa said he did - charged my old battery up, with the phone off, till the charge was complete- turned the phone on, and voila, reception!

you simply fried your battery by overcharging it. Just get a new one, let it fully charge and fully die twice before you start normal charging. Then you will want to only charge it for about 2 to 3 hours or find a charger that has a smart chip that tells it when to stop charging once the battery is full.

Please tell me how to fix this asap

You have one problem causing the other - When the phone gets no service it stays on analog mode and drains the battery trying to find a signal. Do you still have this problem when changing sims? makes sense that it would be a sim problem, since you have numbers being deleted, and no reception. back the remaining numbers up and go get a new sim to see if it fixes your problem. Good luck
