It's if the screen is getting pixelated (little black dots, sometimes white dots. You can still see the game, original gameplay still goes, but with all of my games it has this glitch. It happens mostly with gameplay, NOT loading screens, etc.. On Assasins Creed it only does it in the sky, Fable 2, half the screen does it (there's actually a red burst as well), Grand Theft Auto 4 and Dead Space has it on whole screen, character and all. The only other place you can see it is when you first start up the Xbox and the very first Xbox logo appears before the dashboard pops up. Dashboard is perfectly fine, movies still play with no problem. I always play on a standard tv with the composite AV cable that came with it. I tried my Xbox on another tv that is HD with the cable for that tv (completely different tv and cable), still has problem.
This can mean that the artifacts are problems with the lead free solder and in my experience it will get
worse, its usually on games that require heavy graphics then its definately the lead free solder problem and
will lead to either 3rrod, e73 or e74 etc etc.
my advice is dont play it to death, keep it cool and if you want it to be ok i would do the x-clamp
replacement and possibly re-solder the whole board. this is done by the use of an IR oven similar to what we
use, OR you can use a normal heatgun but i dont recommend it because it can cause damage and knock fuses off
the mainboard if not used properly.
in the meantime id play it for an hour a time and make sure its not in any cupboard or anything. getting
something like an intercooler can help. We use something called SystemX which cures this type of problem.

It can be pixel problem. Every pixel has one transistor to switch off or on. I hate howmanufacturerstreatus because lot of them 'believe' that thisis not a problem (must be more than 6-8 pixel problem on screen for changing). Sometimes little press with finger and shutting down screen can help, but it is possible to do worse if it is to hard press. Price for screens depend on that tolerating of bad pixels from manufacturing. Only few manufacturer can give you guarantee pixel free screen. It is good to know that we have right to return device after buying if we are not satisfy.
Could be whats known as dead pixels, this is tested be showing up a black or white screen. Microsoft paint or word will do. If an area always has dots then dead pixel. However if it doesn't constantly remain a dot then, some-thing else. Dead pixels come about due to age.
A technician will be able to diagnose your problem by performing white screen test.
Many of the old games use graphic textures that are not to the power of 2. This will result in missing textures, scrambled textures, black screens and more.
Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this aside from making yourself an old pc or resurrecting an old one just to play them.
another suggestion is to drop the resolution down to 800x600 or 1024x768 and test there to see if this solves the issue.
As graphic cards advance they don't always hold a backwards compatibility. Its just what happens.
well your graphics card is getting hot you need to do something or you will be the next one with the red ,green and yellow lights of dead I recommend to use a cooling device and make sure you unit has a good space to dissipate heat from the back of the unit and from the right side
You may have a dead pixel on the screen. Sometimes dead pixels will seem to disappear when the screen turns a different color. The only way that I know how to fix it is to get repairs.
This may be an indication of the graphics processor overheating. When the card overheats it tends to leave artifacts like black dots. Newer games typically put harder stresses on consoles than older titles. This would also explain why the dots aren't showing up in menus, menus don't require as much juice as game play.
I would blow out the system with some canned air and try playing the system in a cool, well ventilated area to see if that helps. Sometimes this can be a permanent issue with the graphics processor and you would need to send it in to Microsoft.
