When the light is blinking six times rapidly, this means the power volt polarity has gotten switched.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. the kill switch is open ensure the lamp cover presses firmly on the kill switch when u close the lamp chamber door the red light will stop blinking and u can now turn the tv on

How many times does the red light flash before it pauses and then starts again? This is important info as it helps to diagnose your problem.

Most probably there is a problem in the power supply and it is going on standby protection mode. You may have to search for a service manual from open websites and look through for the error code indicated by the led blinking, to be very sure. Unfortunately I do not have one with me.

My TV (Sony Bravia LCD KLV-32S310A) goes of after 20 seconds when it is switched on. The standby indicator then flashes (red) five (5) times then there is a two seconds break followed by another six flashes then two seconds break etc. What might have caaused this and what should i do?

6 times blink shows problem with back light inverter board.

the status light blinking red means a fan (the unit hs 4 of them) has failed. you need to determine which one. use the self diagnostic function:
Error Code Operational Check
Note: The TV must be in “Shut Down” and not manually switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational
Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to “12” No Error.
Press the front panel “DEVICE” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and hold for 5 seconds to
activate the Error Code Operational Check. The LED will then flash denoting a two digit Code.
Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.
• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.
• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.
Example: If the Error Code is “32”, the LED will flash three times, pause, and then flash two times.
• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

I own a Sony T.V. model #KV36HS510, Serial # 9024184,Event# E36002407 and it"s aTrinitron brand name. Like the problems before no picture or sound, stand by light on front of unit flashes. When trying to turn it back on you can hear the power click, like it wants to turn on, but does not.
