Do I have to replace the control panel on the oven if it isn't lit?

Without a full schematic, and an understanding of electrical wiring, you have no idea if the internal 120 vac light is even on the same circuit as the control panel. Electric ranges are generally powered by 220vac, which means that both 120 lines are run through the unit.

you could have full power to the appliance bulb and have a blown fuse to the control panel, how much of the range actually functions at the moment would be important information to share.

Power failure control panel beeps no lights on panel and oven wont turn on. have lights on inside of oven. do i need a code, never have before. always showed PF for power failure.

Was the oven doing a self clean when the PF occurred? If so the cavity limit probably tripped.
Sometimes the owner wants to shut down the process of self clean for whatever reason that also trips the cavity limit. If the oven circuit breaker is weak then their could be a power failure during which the oven was on and that could cause the cavity limit to trip. No lights on panel means the temp inside the oven control panel exceeded normal operating temp and the small inline fuse going into the control panel has melted:

This is what that small fuse looks like. To get to the insides
you usually drop the side trim exposing the screws then the controls fold outward.

The control panel light is very dim. It is hard

we had the same problem....my husband removed the panel and I clean the inside glass panel & it resolved the problem. It is a convection oven and steam comes out just below the clock area which I believe causes the problem.

Control panel doesn't light up

HI, this issue concerns the touch pad(control board led). This will happen in certain models. it could be some minor corrosion within the wire contact clips that are not allowing the proper current to illuminate the led that is used to light the specific button or, it could be a minor circuit issue within the control board as well.

i recommend inspecting the control panels wire harness contact clips that are behind the actual control board. make sure they are not corroded or lose. if they are lose or corroded, i suggest replacing the entire wire harness. this could be the possible reason for some of the lights that are not illuminating during operations.

If the wires and contacts are in good condition and the harness is in good condition as well, this could be an internal control circuit board issue, concerning the LEd lights. they may have burned out due to the age or heavy usage.(heat related)..

Please rate and god bless:)

Thermador oven control panel light is not working

Please see post by bonanzsapilot on 14 March 2009; he gives exact & easy to follow directions for making this repair for <$10. It's listed uner 'Thermador SC301IT oven - FixYa'. In a separate post I added the correct capacitor numbers from Newark.com. I made the fix in abt 30 min & it's good as new. Thermador no longer makes control panels for this oven & no wiring diagram is available to help. Shop price was estimated at $500.

OVEN LIGHTS DO NOT TURN OFF.

The oven has a small button on the left side on top of the control panel. Switch it on or off. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
