Question about Mitsubishi WD62628 62" Projection HDTV

My 73' rear projection Mitsubishi turns on, an in

My 73' rear projection Mitsubishi turns ON, and in 30 sec screen blackens from the bottom up, leaving only about 5 inches on the top. Then, in another 30 seconds, turns completely OFF. Immediate attempt to turn it ON results into the immediate OFF. Unplugging from the power outlet for about a 1 minute just resets the above described cycle.

It Sounds like to me that there is something with in the Optical block causing the problem.
I would recommend a professional to look at it and confirm this.
Hope this helps,

73' dlp white lines lots of them

The problem is in the flyback transformer, or there is a open resistor in the video output, one possible solution is adjust the screen control on the flyback transformer a very slight tweak anti-clockwise, this in a lot of cases will fix the problem, but you must use extreme care, "high voltage danger"

Mitsubishi screen replacing

You must remove the front bezel and frame holder to replace the screen. You will usually see the screws holding the from from the rear of the unit. Once you get the frame off, take note of the way the old screen is installed. There is usually a label on one side near the bottom; the new screens must be installed with the label in the same location. The lenticular goes on the outside (facing the viewer) and the fresnel goes on the inside facing the mirror. You will be able to recognize the fresnel, it has a series of concentric circles that are raised on the sirface of the plastic Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
