recently had same problem when i brought the radio to the shop i brought it to him with all the wires in the back trimed so no copper was showing when i got it back the right rear wires had been stripped along with power and ground now as far to what happens behind the sences i dont know but i would guess they merge thee two and power it on and wait because it took they 4 hours to do mine

with the unit in standby, press the menu key, use the joystick control to choose aux, and set the aux option to "on"...then press menu again to save...when you next switch on the unit, using the SRC button you can cycle through the available options...cd - tuner - aux..etc etc
