Mu WRT150N Router appears to have stopped working. If I hook the modem direct to the laptop it works. If I put the router inbetween with the same direct connection, no internet. I have tried several cables...

Are any of the LED lights switched on in the router when it is powered up?
If not check the power adapter plug with a multi-meter, the output voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter.
If the voltage is zero or very low then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Problem with VPNand Linksys router WRT150N

If that is the case you may forward ports on the router for VPN connection, try to open 47, 500 and 1723 all TCP and UDP protocol.

Here's what you need to do, check the IP address of the computer where you have the VPN software,

here's how:
click start> run> type cmd> hit okay
on the black screen put in ipconfig and check the IP address there,

> when you get the IP address then we can enable port forwarding on the router

> open IE on the working computer on the address bar, type 192.168.1.1

> nothing for username and password is admin in lower case

> then click on the applications and gaming tab on the router,

> and from there, example of how to field that in is like this,

> for aaplication name - VPN1
> for port it is 47 to 47
> for protocol it is BOTH
> for IP address ex. 192.168.1.XX - 192.168.1.100
> then check enable, do the same thing for the rest of the port.
> save the settings and try it again after.

> if it is still nothing, you may connect the computer that has the VPN connection directly to the modem and check if you will be able to connect via VPN

i'll wait for your response, thank you and have a nice day!

WRT150N 0ccasionally wireless is lost. Repower gets it back

Hi,

Where is the router located? There maybe devices that run the same frequency as the router that may interfere the wireless connection (e.g. microwave oven, cordless phone). It may help if you place the router in the middle of all your wireless computers, change the channel of your router (change it to channel 1 or 11), or securing your wireless network by changing your SSID (do not use default wireless network name as others maybe using the same) or use WPA or WPA2 to make sure that nobody uses your wireless network.
