Canon G9 wont power up.

The reason it won't work is because when you went in to fix it, you shorted out the flash. That's what the flash was that you saw when you reconnected it to the main board. It's best not to open these and try to work on them yourself. There are steps to take when servicing electronics and it sounds like you forgot to drain the capacitor first. I'd suggest to go this site and see if they can help you They're very knowledgable with the Canon cameras and I'm sure they can get working just right again or maybe they can tell you the part you need to fix what you did when you were working on it.

Was told by amazon that your 50mmF2.8 DG macro would autofocus on my nikon does I missing something or did amazon mislead me? Thanks Kevin

FixYa does not make lenses. From the name, I'm going to assume it's a Sigma lens.

The Nikon D40x does not have an autofocus motor, relying on the lens to have one. This particular Sigma lens does not have such a motor. Sigma designates their lenses with an autofocus motor as "HSM", Nikon calls theirs "AF-S".

I saw nothing on Amazon's page for this lens specifically mentioning the D40x. If someone there told you that it will autofocus on the D40x, then yes, you were misled.

My Lens wont retract on my exilm zoom ex-z60

If it is under warranty Casio can fix it for free. other wise you end up paying the labor/parts. Can become very costly. I suggest open the case and replace the plastic housing that hosts the saw wheels. Should fix the problem

Camera dropped, lens won't retract or expand

You sound as if you don't want to waste money on this camera. You could try to gently pull the lens straight. If it's leaning to the right then pull the lens to the left. Don't use brute force but it's possible to realign the lens this way. If it works you'll hear a click and the lens will look straight. Switch on and see if it retracts. I'd only use this as a last resort because you can cause additional damage if it's overdone. But believe me I've seen it done and I've done it myself with about a 40% win rate. bmw
