try defrost = 2.3 enter/start I use my sharp (not a R405) all the time to defrost meat and that's how mine works , I know its a bit confusing as defrost goes by weight not time like the cook mode does
If you don't know how to program defrost or if the unit does not have variable power settings, you can put a cup of water in next to the package you want to defrost and run the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. I don't advise defrosting meat in a microwave but I guess sometimes you have to.
Using the Auto Defrost feature on my microwave oven
How do I use the Auto Defrost feature on my microwave oven? To use the Auto Defrost feature on your microwave oven, please do the following:
Unwrap food, place on the turntable, and close the door.
Touch Defrost.
Select food by entering 1 for Meat, 2 for Poultry or 3 for Fish, or touch Defrost repeatedly to scroll through the food selections.
Enter the weight in pounds:
Meats and Poultry can be set from 0.2 to 6.6 lb (90 g to 3 kg).
Fish can be set from 0.2 to 4.4 lb (90 g to 2 kg).
Doneness may be adjusted at this time by touching Cook Time.
Touch Start. The display will count down the defrost time. When the cycle ends, "End" will appear in the display, and the end-of-cycle tones will sound, followed by reminder tones.
Touch Cancel Off or open the door to clear the display and/or stop reminder tones.
The Defrost system has 3 categories:
Meat, Poultry and Fish. It should not be used for food left outside the
freezer more than 20 minutes and frozen ready-made food. Use the
following chart as a guide.
the microwave does not weigh things. you need to know the weight for things like auto defrost. 1 pound ground beef... enter auto defrost ..10 will read 1.0 ... 1 1/2 pounds... enter 15 ..reads 1.5.... 1/2 pound enter 5...reads 0.5 . unit beeps half way through heating program.. open door.. turn meat over close door. will continue to defrost

Place chicken breast side down on saucers. Brush with butter. Cover with waxed paper. Cook 12 minutes. Remove wax paper or saran warp from legs, tail, and wings. Turn chicken breast side up and brush with butter. Cover with wax paper and cook 12 minutes more or until meat thermometer registers 180 degrees (temperature will increase to 195 degrees during standing).
DO NOT USE MEAT THERMOMETER IN OVEN WHEN COOKING!! Remove chicken from oven; cover with aluminum foil and let stand 15 to 20 minutes before carving. Note: For other weights of chicken, allow 8 minutes cooking time per pound.
