You may have airflow issues, verify the inlet and outlet temps with the unit running on start up, if the unit exceeds the "rise" allowable then the safety devices "overtemp" will take the firing circuit off line until it cools down. The acceptable mfg. rise is listed on the nameplate inside the burner chamber, (generally on the side wall)

The blower speed can be changed somewhat the same way , but it will have to be rewired using one of the extra capped wires for a lower speed. That is if the other wires were not clipped and just capped

My Ruud furnace does not show a flame when unit is running,. How do i fix the problem? Thanks

Turn thermostat all the way up, then turn unit off. Wait a few minutes then turn power back on. The induced draft blower should start. 20 seconds later
if you have a hot surface ignitor-it should glow.

If it does not glow then more then likely it iscracked on the back side. You will haved to remove it to see this. Be very carefull these are delicate and will break easy

Just had new ruud heat pump installed 5 days ago, it blows cold for the first few minutes and then warm but not warm enough, called installer he said thats the way heat pumps work and he will stop out when...

In most newer operations, the indoor fan motor will come on first before the actual heat comes on.
However if you shut off the power and Remove usually
the upper panel. Located on the inside on the right hand side there is information that will tell you what
the temperature rise should be between the supply air and return air.

Usually this requires a thermometer that you can insert about 5ft away from the furnace, for both
the return air and supply air.

If the temperature rise calls the unit to be between 25
and 45 deg F, Adjusting the blower speed lower should give you warmer air maybe as much as 10deg, but 5 deg seems more probable

Heating unit blows warm air then turns to cold air

it sounds like unit could be kicking out the low pressure switch or if it is a electric furnace it could be the sequincers

Why does the heating element in my gas furnace keep shutting off before it reaches the desired temp? The fan keeps blowing but the air is cold. I have to turn the thermostat to off, wait a few minutes and...

The furnace has many safety controls monitoring many parameters. The most like cause of your complaint may be low air flow. The most simple reason would be dirty or too restrictive of an air filter. If the filter is clean that is about as far as you can go without a general knowledge of how that whole system works together.

My Ruud Achiever 90 Plus not blowing cooled air

Look on the condensor, (outdoor unit) at the very bottom of the rear panel and you should find a red reset button. push it. If that does not solve the problem, and the outdoor unit is running (make sure both the fan AND the compressor are running) then you are looking at a low refridgerant issue and possibly dirty coils.

In that case, clean the coils and have refridgerant added.

Ruud UBHC-21J18SFA blowing only "luke warm" air at best

That's crazy, we're having the same problem.  Turns out there was a wattage restrictor in the furnace that was switching off 3 of the 5 heating elements in an attempt to save energy.  Basically, the restrictor was sensing that the incoming air was warm, so only 2 of the 5 coils should be needed to heat the air.  Well that wasn't enough and we just sat with the furnace running all day long struggling to reach the 70 degree setpoint.
This is something a technician can diagnose in a few minutes, but not the sort of thing a DIY'er should really handle.
