Cannot set back time

I purchased an Anne Klein watch -- have the user information but it's not adequate. The watch was preprogrammed one hour ahead.

The watch has two buttons: a function button and a set button.

The instructions to hit the set button x4 and then hit the function button but this does not adjust the hour as it should -- according to this leaflet. Any clues? Thanks so much
