Question about Ryobi Garden
I have a Ryobu Rear Tine Tiller Model 454 purchase in 2004. Started it up than, but didn't use it till this summer because of job troubles. (The muffler wasn't even black yet) The trouble with it is: most of the time it doesn't go into reverse some times (1 out of 10time) it does. I even do what the manual says by moving it slightly back ward so the gears can synchronize. Other wise I like it. Was there a recall than and I missed it. I know my warranty was up a long time ago. Any suggestions! I'm a handyman and can work on it mechanicly. thanks firstname.lastname@example.org

the tines are usually connected with shear bolts designed to break away when u hit something as a safety precaution so that u dont break anything in the transmission. its common that people dont know this and replace them with normal bolts. if this was done and the tines are not moving now chances are uve got a snapped gear shaft

First check for spark, if you have spark than you can try spraying a little fuel into the carb and try to start it if it starts then dies its the carb

If you go to Sears.com, then go to parts, then type in the model number, then look to the right and scroll down slow you will see a spot that says get manuals for this model and click on view manuals then any manuals they have you can print them out.
