My tripp.Lite Smart Pro 2U, Modle 2200 does not turn on. When holding power on / off button, it beeps on and beeps off, but never actually turn on. Also, the menue on the LCD does not come up to see the problem. If holding Mode and Mute together, the factory setting menue comes up, but can not do any thing other than going out of it by pressing power button. What is the problem?
Just looking for possible known problems with the unit. I can identify the problem when I Open it up. Thank you !Just looking for possible known problems with the unit. I can identify the problem when I Open it up. Thank you !

if your model has a mute/test button, please press this for 3 or 4 seconds to stop the beep. The beep usually indicates an approaching power shutdown of the device and allows you to save any files that are currently in use prior to this shutdown.
If your Tripp LIte Omni 1000 LCD display a fault icon and beeps after changing the battery, try the advice given by the buzzerman which worked perfect in this case:
1. Turn the UPS on. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for one second.
2. Run a Self-Test: Press and hold the MUTE/TEST button for two seconds (until beeps several times). The test will last 10 seconds. All LCDDisplay icons will be illuminated and the alarm will sound. At the end of this process the fault icon and the beeping turned off.
Unplug the computer. Then run the UPS self-test and the unit will display whether it finds an overload fault, whether the battery needs to be charged or replaced.
Here are the instructions (copied from the User Manual):
Turn UPS on: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for one second.
Run a Self-Test: Press and hold the MUTE/TEST button for two seconds (until alarm beeps several times).
The test will last 10 seconds. All LCD Display icons will be illuminated and the alarm will sound.
If the fault icon remains lit, the battery-supplied outlets are overloaded. Unplug powered devices until you remove the overload.
If the "Replace" icon remains lit and alarm continues to sound, the UPS batteries need to be recharged or replaced. Allow UPS to charge for 24 hours and repeat self-test.
hold off button until in bypass mode comes on. to setup hold scroll and select buttons down together, until it goes to setup mode. make selections. exit. then hold on button until it beeps and comes on through diagnostics.

Try leaving it off, but plugged into the wall outlet so the batteries can charge up. If they are new, they are probably without a charge. The instructions should indicate how long it needs to charge - probably most of the day.
tripp lite includes battery replacements and they have authorized sellers and distributors. however, they dont sell directly to consumers like us. they do have sales and support if you want someone from them to have the battery replacements installed
