If she pushed hard on the lcd and these are now dead pixels i am afraid you need a new LCD screen at thi point.

It would be more cheaper if you just got a new lcd screen verses buying a new TV/

thanks

Why do i have dark smudges on my tv

Usually that is actually dust that has gotten in behind the lcd screen. The dust congregates on top of the tv and eventually falls in through the air grids. Im not to sure how to rectify this without opening the tv up not something I would recommend and can break your warranty.

I have a dark spot on my samsung full hd tv (not LEDtv)

You could possibly be dealing with a failing LCD panel. I've seen many of the dark spots in Samsung sets and it's due to defective LCD panel tabs. The only true fix is the replace the panel which would cost more than a new TV !!!

Hello, I have a 40" Samsung LCD flatscreen. My television has a 2.5" diameter black spot on the far left side about 4" from the bottom of the screen, Also we have a dark transparent band across the bottom...

Sorry Sir but your LCD TV got wet... it can be splash with too much water, an animal urinate on the panel, etc....
this kind of black spot is caused when the LCD Panel Terminals got wet, this terminals are located at the lower side of the LCD Panel.

Dark spot on the right hand side of the screen

check make sure you didnt put your tv next to some thing that has a magnet in it such as speakers either from a radio or home surround sound system this will cause the problem and if its been sitting beside a magnet for awhile your probably not going to be able to fix it

DARK SHADOW EFFECT UPPER CORNERS OF SCREEN

I would check for dust particles before I attempted any type of repair on the unit.

Dust particles will appear as dark spots that are larger than the size of an individual pixel. It must first be determined if the particle(s) are on the LCD panels or the screen.

Red spots all over screen

After downloading their driver update, it fixed the problem along with a few other issues.
You said SPOTS....not pixels.

Spots the size of a quarter are generally DUST that has gotten into the Light Engine and it's blocking the light off of the LCD panel.....

You need a TV Tech to Safely open up the unit and blow the dust off the optical path......the guy has got to have BIG 'Nads to do that, Because SOME units should just have the Optical Engine replaced, instead of opening them up to introduce MORE dust into a sealed engine.....

DON'T do this yourself, and remember THAT Big-Nad Tech is TRYING to save you money so you DON'T have to buy a NEW light engine anyways.....It's a Last-Ditch effort before spending $800 to $1000 for a Light Engine.....

Spots on screen

Youlikely have dust inside the optical block on the LCD panels. Cleaning the panels is a tricky job and just shooting compressed air into the block will only redistribute the dust. A qualified tech can disassemle the block and clean the panels

Dark Blotches

This is probably caused by dust, either on the mirror, lens, or possibly inside the light engine. There is a 5" dia hole on the side of the back of the tv where you can take out one screw and take the door off. this is just big enough for you to put your hand through to clean the mirror and lens. Hope this helps.
