I checked and the oil was a tad low, so I topped it off.
I re-checked everything again myself. It was the battery not strong enough after all. Grrr.
Jumped started with my truck and generator fired up fine. The diag.code quit flashing also when I hooked my truck up which told me it wanted more juice.
    Thanks,

    Cheri

Is the oil topped off or is it low? Automatic oil shut-off will prevent engine from starting/running if oil is low.

Check the oil pressure switch, if it does not register it will also give a code and will not start.

Onan genarator will not crank

If it wont crank, check to see if the solenoid on the starter pulls in, the starter and solenoid are one unit, it sounds like an internal starter contact, if you have 12V going to it. Assuming the battery is good. When you press and hold the stop button does the fuel pump pump prime? if so control board has power

Need to know what the volts should be on the starter side of solinoid on a onan 4.0bfa r.v. gen.

Typically near full battery voltage. During starting this may fall to around 10 volts due to the high current once the starter motor engages.

Push start button, and just hear a clicking noise, doesnt try to start.?

Hello,
Usually the clicking sound is caused by insufficient voltage to cause the starting solenoid to engage and turn the engine over. Check the battery first as this is most often the cause. If the battery checks out to be good, then check the wiring from the battery through the switch to the solenoid. With the battery disconnected, remove the wires from the terminals one at a time and clean each connection to shiny and bright. Re-assemble each one before going to the next. Once the wires and connections are proven, turn your thoughts next to the solenoid, and replace it if necessary. You can jump past the solenoid with a jumper wire between the large lugs (the switch will have to be "ON").

Solenoid clicks will not engage 4000KW Onan

4000 kW is a very big generator. I asume that your is 4000W = 4 kW.
If - with electrical start it should be MicroQuiet 4000.
Never mind by all types of electricaly started engines this will mean:

If by "not engage" you mean that solenoid only clicks, but neither the starter motor is turning, nor the bendix wheel is engaged to wlywheel. This may mean that battery voltage is low, in order to engage the bendix and make its power contact, or the bendix is mechanicaly blocked.
If by "not engage" you mean that solenoid clicks, the starter motor is not turning, but the bendix wheel is engaged to wlywheel. This may mean that the bendix relay power contacts are bad or starter motor collector or brushes are bad.
If by "not engage" you mean that solenoid clicks, the starter motor is turning with a scratching sound, the bendix wheel is partially or not engaged to wlywheel. This may mean that the bendix throw out lever is bent or broken, or the wheels on bendix and flywheel are worn out..

My onan 6500 gen cranks slow and won't start new batterys and clean cables 12.5 v on one side of soleniod and 7.5 v on other

Your solenoid might be bad or your starter motor might need new carbon brushes. If you can take out the starter motor and see if you can manually rotate it, if it is not to hard to turn it, if hard to turn manually your starter might have something bad inside. A bad bearing or bushing. One more thing try this while cranking try to tap the starter motor.
