Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Personal Web Camera
I have just bought a Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000 Webcam with
I have installed the software on my laptop which uses Windows XP system but when I try to use it with Skype I can see & hear the other person but they can only SEE me but cannot HEAR me.
I have changed the Sound & audio settings in my control panel to link to my webcam. When I do the Skype test call I do not hear my voice back. Can you tell me what I need to do please to get the microphone working?
Thank you to anyone who can help me with this.
Make sure that you have the Microphone pointed to your webcam within SKYPE. I know that with Ventrillo you need to set it up to see the device within the program. I would look for options within Skype.

See section A. Skype in the info below.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/ ) set it up as follows:
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:
C. Windows Live Messenger:
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud

First of all you have to check if its on. If it was you would've been hearing your voice but if you have VISTA then right click on the speaker thing and it will show all these things you're going to have to go to the Microphone settings and change it to be LIFECAM VX 1000 so you could talk into the camera (You change the settings) Thats what i think is wrong,
